Just looking at the squad and even with Gudmonson, Gnonto and Gruev on the way back, that’s still 2/3 senior players short of a 25 man squad we can name.
One injury to DCL, we will be woefully short in the striker position.

I think the deal is as good as done for Zetterer, and Perri has already flown out to Torino.
I still think there'll be a couple more signings next week, but who and what position is anyone's guess. The club are keeping their cards very close to their chest, probably to not create a price augmentation on their targets.

Agree with Aus2. If we have a long term injury to one of our two strikers, we have a major problem. Neither of them are able to play every minute of every game, and if we don't have some threat up front, we'll drop points, however good our defence is.


At least before we had Piroe on the bench, however limited he was in the Premier League. Dan James has been used before, but that didn't work. A third striker is a necessity, especially when our current ones do need to be carefully managed to keep them fit.

I know it's frustrating, but I think it's been a tough transfer market for everyone. The positives are what we have done so far, and there is still time. Who knows what the 9ers are working on. As pointed out, should DCL get injured, we are in a pickle as is, but you could also say, should JT get injured, ditto; that seems to have been addressed.

I hardly think the 9ers would have intended not to sign a striker, and they are ticking off objectives; it's just a tough market. Keep the faith, people. ?

We defo need a 3rd striker.

To his credit, Dan James for Leeds in EPL seez 21/22 tried his best as an (emergency) striker, better than Piroe did as a striker in EPL.

DJ scored 5 EPL goals, 3 assists as a striker for Leeds in 21/22 season. Piroe scored none in 25/26.

No new striker. If one were bought, they would get a guaranteed 10/15 goals this season.
I think it's why the defense was made stronger, because in the event of both DCL and Nmencha being out injured, we will look to eke out games with perhaps a 1-0 win if possible.
We have firepower in our team with the likes of Stach, Okafor etc to beat teams by a single goal, and we also have a defense that can keep, I believe, many clean sheets this season.


This is still about our survival in the Premiership and not about qualifying for European football. I don't think any fan should forget that.
