Slight change of topic, this international break which has already been pointed out is ridiculously long, to justify three weeks out of the league's season is hard to do.
Even this early in the season there could be all sorts of consequences and impacts that that could hit teams with a negative or positive outcome.
Momentum shifts from teams that are doing well or bad, with four international games there could be a whole host of new injuries with certain players possibly trying to make an impact to their international careers and potentially overstretching their normal abilities.
Am I imagining too much from this or is it just me missing Leeds play when the season has only just got started ?

As i said below, I think its a complete joke. No one is interested in these pointless, minor tournaments, or the friendlies scattered around. Players withdrawing with minor injuries shows their priorities.
Like you say, the impact that this may have on us in particular concerns me more than yesterday's draw!
Clubs need to unite against them. They offer no value to anyone other than the Associations!

I'll give you a quiz Baz.
Name your 'top Leeds United targets X1' of all time.
In other words, players we could/should have signed (or you wish we had signed) .
There's a rule though - you have to be 'fairly' realistic, in other words, although we would all have liked to sign a Messi or Mbappe, at the time we simply couldn't have afforded them.

A great goalie who helped Spuds win Cups
Better than our keepers Sprake and Harvey imo

Blackburn's Jack Walker money talked re huge wages etc
But I would have lurved Alan Shearer from Saints in summer 1992 ( instead he went to Blackburn for £3.3 million)
Instead of Leeds spending £2million on David Rocastle and £1 million on Scott Sellars we potentially could have used that £3 million to sign Shearer
Leeds United were League Champions and in the European Cup.we needed a long term replacement for Lee Chapman.

Would Shearer have come to Leeds? We will never know, but he would have been some signing. We should have signed McAllister back from Coventry as O'Leary's team were just missing a midfield lock picker, and I am sure he would have walked back to Leeds to play in that team. As it was, Liverpool got him and won four cups.

I always thought that had Cloughie survived he might have signed Shilton and Trevor Francis for us instead of Forest - Francis did say he wanted to play for us.
As did Bobby Moore's wife Tina. Reckoned Bobby wanted to come to us.

I wish Leeds signed striker Tony Woodcock from Cologne in summer 81 whom we were close to signing.we desperately needed strikers and goals!

Yeh Bright just wanted to highlight what you had previously posted.
I think with Palmer grabbing the headlines this morning with his exclusion shows the importance or great lack of it for this tournament, it's quite clear that some players do not want to jeopardize their premiership league inclusion with the threat of a potential long term injury.
The question is, do we really need a nations league tournament ? and isn't their enough football already with domestic and European club football plus all the World and European Cup qualifiers and actual tournaments ?
It makes me think what other meaningless International tournaments FIFA will come up with next to line their pockets with even more of the filthy mulah.

Let's start with a few I wish we'd never signed
Tomas Brolin, Seth Johnson, Robbie Fowler, JKA. Those we should've signed include Bobby Moore circa 1966, Alan Shearer when he went to Blackburn, Erling Haarland when he was with Molde aged 16.
Then there are those we did have but lost in Ridsdale's fire sale (too numerous to list them all) . Life as a Leeds Unted supporter is full of "if only's".

Fowler was OK in his first season with us, but not in his second, but despite his form dropping off, he still got preferred over Robbie Keane.

Fowler's goals got Leeds into Europe the following season, his scoring record for us was good as Baz says. Seth Johnson was the most ridiculous and damaging signing of that period. The list of bad signings must include Frank Strandli, what was that all about? Then we had numerous players in the Warnock, Mc Dermott, Rosler, Hockerday era's.
And don't forget umpteen awful loan signings, the Brazilian WC winner, the hopeless LB from Man U to name but two. God, it makes me depressed thinking about turning up to watch them all !
