Personally, think it's been the biggest pile of gash since the last one over there, and it should not be held there again for at least 70 years.

An average World Cup for me. Had its monuments like cape Verdi. But not memorable.

Don't know what to think of that match, a result of 6-4 seems odd in any football match.
Where were France in the first half? They may as well not have been on the pitch, playing like a second-string England B team.
I've never really valued the third and fourth place in the World Cup, it's not the Olympics, it's about winning, and that's it.
The only thing I saw in that game that convinced me that Tuchel got his tactics wrong against Argentina was that he should've brought Saka and Rashford on rather than going defensive for the last 25 minutes or so.
Crap World Cup held in a country that should be nowhere near our beautiful game.

A performance that showed what could have been as OP said, Saka and Rashford could have made the difference against Argentina. At least the players of both teams put on a show in the game nobody is bothered about, so all credit to them.
And the players have a bronze medal to show for their efforts, which might not mean much to most, but after that game it will to them.

Saka last game before 3/4 was average at best. Good he played well v France, but imo deserved to be dropped.
But Tuchel was at fault for losing v Argies. Playing 6 defenders when we were well on top.

Every week in the PL we'd see Saka go down the right wing til about 5-10 yds from the line, then cut in and deliver killer crosses or shots with his favoured left foot. Up to now, whenever he's played in this World Cup, he's hardly ever done that, but last night he did it frequently, and the French left backs couldn't handle him.
Why he's not played like that earlier, we'll never know.

The game, per se, is one of opinion, and that is mine; I will freely admit to having a dislike for the Americanisation of many things globally.
I will be interested to see how FIFA intend to manage the effect of political influences at play this tournament, and the 100's of billions £s of revenue generated from it.
Will it be used to further the game in less developed countries? Will UEFA and the FA leave the organisation, and will others follow suit?

Don't get "terrific stadiums" quote? I couldn't give a toss how the stadiums are, as I'm watching it on television. What's happening on the pitch is of more importance to me.

The stadiums are a real mixed bag; no doubt they look spectacular, but having frequented many of them in New York, Philly and Boston (Miami and Chicago, to a lesser degree) , they are horrendous to sit in.
Many have no roofs, and open corners, which means you are absolutely cooking in summer, and it's a near death experience in winter. I literally was stuck to my seat in Boston, in the middle of January, once!
