Awful performance by both teams and of course the ref.
No positives other than a point which shoulda been 3.
Bang the drum time. Dcl. Said it before is poor and useless on his own. Subs were baffling. Simply not enough on bench to change a game cause of minimal Jan recruitment. It’s just not good enough. We have underwhelmed for too long now.

Squandered many many points. We are in the turd. Could quite easily go down if we don’t win some games. Fed up with it all. I don’t like watching us play. Can’t fault the endeavour. Just the tactics, entertainment and management is poor and negative. If we survive there is so much that needs fixing. New manager and at least 3 starters.

Unrealistic demands, I am afraid, Aus. This is as good as it gets for where we are in this moment in time.

2.) 16 Mar 2026
16 Mar 2026 08:05:27
Unrealistic how?
For wise purchasing? For somebody that can score a penalty like Struijk? For us to win a game? For a manager that makes logical subs?

Can't beat Leeds with 11 men on the pitch, so they get one sent off and celebrate doing so. How disgraceful Palace are. No wonder the manager is leaving with clowns like that to manage.

Spurs, W.Ham and Forest all sit below us, with far better quality in their teams and bigger resources than us.
Something must be going right somewhere, because if it wasn't we should be alongside Burnley right now.

Subs were baffling?
His subs ensured we got a point while 2 men down.
And you wouldn't have had Struijk on the pitch to take a penalty, as he's useless according to you.

6.) 16 Mar 2026
16 Mar 2026 09:56:16
Correct, Canada. He is useless, but apparently better at pens than DCL. Oh dear.
It was disgraceful, Whiteman, and he shoulda been booked for that childish celebration.
Going right, Opti? What? 3. And I say that again. 3 points above relegation. What's right about that when we can't win a game. Check the form guide out, mate. Be real.

I am being real. Finishing 17th this season would be a great success, in my opinion.

Bit harsh, Aus, get the frustration, but I thought, in admittedly a very poor game, we were by far the better side.

Tactics were right, in that he did start with two up top, in an away game, but had to sacrifice Nanecheck after Gaby was wrongly sent off.

DCL has missed two pens as I recall now. It should have been Nanecheck taking it, and don't forget, Aus, Struick was our penalty taker in the Championship, but lost the role after also missing from the spot.

Stach should take them for me. He strikes the ball so purely, he'd put the keeper in the back of the net too!

Admittedly, it was a huge opportunity lost. Thankfully, none of the teams below us were able to capitalise, so in terms of games left, we were no worse off from when we started the day.

Also, defensively we look incredibly strong and robust. Rodon, Bivol and Struick are a better combination than any of the teams below us, and how many clear-cut chances did we give up in that game, especially second half with 10 men?

I appreciate technically we will be poorer than most we play, but in terms of effort and fight, and resiliency, I think we have been excellent. Think back to those woeful displays at Brighton, Burnley and Forest. We are now unrecognisable from those games.

Agree with Corkeys concerns over goals drying up, but think (pray) that will change with Nanecheck given a few games up top with DCL. Beat Brentford, and things will look and feel very different.

OP, those teams you mentioned might have a few better players than us, especially Tottenham n Forest, but we have the better team. Having the best players does not make a good team.

10.) 16 Mar 2026
16 Mar 2026 14:35:59
Well, Aus, you could also flip that and say, Yes, we are 3 points above the relegation places. Our destiny is in our hands. We have to play Wolves, Spuds, Burnley and Wet Spam, all winnable, as are our remaining games, with the exception of Man U away.

We are having awful bad luck as well with officials. It's no time for the black dog to bark, everything to play for. A win against Brentford would be just the tonic. ?

Ref cost us the game for not sending Johnson or Sarr off.
Sarr ran into Bijol and tried getting him a red, then in the very next phase of play, ran over and did the same with GG. He should have seen red.
Conto or whatever his name was, who celebrated the red, should have won a yellow.

The refs are not scared of Leeds, we're too soft on them. Until we get in their faces like every other team does then this will keep happening.

However, great point earned under the circumstances. Nmecha should be the penalty taker as DCL has now missed 2 and Nmecha has proven himself under pressure.

The away fans deserve great admiration for their spirit and never giving up. They earned us that point.

Cork, I couldn't agree more. The fact that we are marginally doing better than these teams, with undoubted individual quality, is because Farke is getting the best out of our players and making them fight as a team.

If team spirit is lacking, and your players are not hungry to succeed, there's only one way to go.

14.) 16 Mar 2026
16 Mar 2026 19:32:33
I agree to a certain extent, mate, but it's a big but. I believe we've underachieved points-wise, and it may cost Farke his job, even if we stay up.
Farke is just a little too cautious in his approach in some games. Trying to hang on for a win instead of killing off the game.

Too many times we sit back after taking the lead in matches and not being brave, subs included, and killing the game off. Playing Gruev and Amps at home against lower opposition is way too negative, and has cost us.

If we win this weekend, we are guaranteed to be at least 5 points above the relegation zone, possibly 6, given Spurs are playing Forest. We always knew it was going to be squeaky, so it always amazes me the constant diatribe about how we could be relegated; it was how the season started, it's been the same throughout.

I'm glad with 20% of the season to go, it's still very much in our own hands.

This team has been very competitive in 95% of games and it's far more than I expected. 2 wins and a draw, and we will be ok.

I believe he has to show a certain amount of pragmatism, otherwise we're going to get slaughtered in most games like Martin and Kompany were.
He's already shown this season that he can adapt with different formations.

Our sole objective this season is to not get relegated. If he achieves that, then his employers will very likely want him to continue his job with our club.
Good luck to him, I say.

Bielsa was brave. And he got biffed.
It's another case of being damned either way.
I don't reckon there's a balanced approach, to be honest, so whichever way any gaffer chooses, there's gonna be an element of supporters who want the opposite. Nature of the beast.

18.) 16 Mar 2026
16 Mar 2026 20:06:39
Aus, his subs were baffling? What else could he do? His left back is sent off, so he moves his best alternative into that position, and puts his best option into the vacated position. I'm baffled that you found it baffling!

19.) 16 Mar 2026
16 Mar 2026 20:14:59
Bielsa came ninth, I believe, in his first season?
I do see your points of view, lads, but stand by what I said. DF is too conservative.

Just for interest, Corkey, Farke, after 26 games, had the same points as Bielsa in his first EPL season.

Bielsa was fortunate (if you think it's an advantage) that he got his points without the fans.

Up to game 26 of this season, Farke had outperformed Bielsa in each of the seasons. They both got to the playoffs, Bielsa semi-finalists after essentially leading the table all season, and Farke finalists despite chasing all season.

In the second respective seasons they both won the league, though Farke got more points and scored more goals. In their third season, they were equal at game 26. Bielsa finished the season very well and, although Farke could emulate him, I concede it's improbable.

Your last paragraph is the most important part, and enough said. It's a 38 game season.
