It is indeed crazy just how bad man utd have been this year ed.
I share in your astonishment.
It looks like you are even going to miss out on Europe. That’s another thorn in your side.
Seeing city probably winning the title again must hurt a lot too.
It’s really unfair when a team is pretty rich and crap too.
As for 10c. Didn’t he recently blame the youth?

We are a big game team.
Did both top two home and away reasonably easily.
Got bossed a bit by saints but realistically they were never part of the equation. And last game was out of our hands.
That's why the opti computer has us as favourites for promotion. When the chips are down we show up.
I'm certainly not giving up.

Aus - I agree - but I think we’re more of a big team team - if that makes sense - as in we seem to do better against teams that think they can beat us and therefore attack us. We put 8 goals past Ipswich in 2 games and 4 past Leicester - and ran Chelsea very close etc. We lost the last game through poor game management - on and off the pitch - but tbh 2nd place was beyond us by then.

I note the HT manager is leaving - basically branding the players he inherited a pub team. How Leeds is it that we couldn’t break them down because they just sat back - and hacked when necessary. I am nervous about the next 2 games because of Rutter’s confidence and this alleged disunity in the team. If they can sort that out I think we will beat Norwich. They will attack us.

Young Heskey up front for citeh, any relation to the goat of English strikers?

Cree has been great for us this season, but I get the impression he may be a little too big for his boots. Let’s see what the play offs bring, and what happens with him afterwards, but I believe we would benefit more from a real “side before self” player plus his market value reinvested.

Agree3 0Disagree

10 May 2024 19:28:56
Totally agree Brighty, I have been thinking for awhile now that he isn’t a team player and more of a putting myself in the transfer window player, so after we win the play offs I would get rid Brighty 👍👍.

Yep . and seeds were sown of disharmony by CS in Hull game pen wrestling.

Agree1 0Disagree

10 May 2024 20:18:43
As long as he keeps scoring and assisting I don't see an issue with it. If he wants to put himself in the shop window he needs to play well. Which we want him to do.

I told you all about Summerville and his attitude (Selfish) months ago. Dill, DF was soft on him because of his goals and assists as well. that's why we have these issues with the team. When Piroe clearly was the penalty taker for that game, DF should have sent a message and benched Summerville the next game. Shows you who's really in charge Hey!

Agree1 0Disagree

10 May 2024 21:33:18

Agree0 0Disagree

10 May 2024 21:35:13
Guess he will just give up now then 🤣 out of everyone in recent games, Cry is the one who always looks most likely to do something. Singling him out is a bit mad to me.

Agree1 0Disagree

10 May 2024 23:12:32
I agree, said this months ago about cree, there is something going on with his attitude. But as long as he scores next 3 games that good for, then he can earn the dollars if that's the goal.

Agree1 0Disagree

11 May 2024 04:28:54
Perceived attitude problems and selfishness are not the same thing. Being selfish more is of benefit to certain players as it helps them to score or assist more, which helps the team in it's own way. Not being funny but if Cry is through on goal and he has Bamford at side of him are you wanting him to pass or shoot? I know which option I'd rather take. If he passed to Bamford and Bamford missed you'd all be moaning about "why didn't Cry shoot? " The kid can't win either way cos people will still have a moan.

For me, a bad attitude, amongst other things, is giving up when things are tough. Something a lot of others seem to have done recently. So Where's the "X player has an attitude problem" comments about others? Cry may not be in fine form still, but he's the one that looks most likely to do anything for us, meaning he's still trying stuff and likely trying to take a little more risk to drag us out of this hole we have been in recently.

Had the team on his back most of the season, yet he's accused of having attitude problems, lol. It's called a winning mentality and it's in a lot of top, top players. He's been playing in the same vein all season and it's only a problem now cos we aren't winning, which is less on Cry than most of the others.

That's my two cents. People will think what they like, but I don't see him being selfish as a problem.

Agree1 0Disagree

11 May 2024 09:22:42
Are we so certain he’s a bad apple and needs to go?
Our top scorer and easily our best player, also best player of the Championship this season.
I wouldn’t be so quick to condemn him, yes he’s probably arrogant and a cocky youngster, would you not say successful players like Ronaldo and Zlatan are not arrogant and over confident?

I seriously doubt that the 49er’s will be looking to offload him, especially if we get promoted.
Personally I think it would be madness.

Agree2 0Disagree

11 May 2024 09:34:56
Dill but ' winning mentality ' has NOT been present in CS or really any of the other players recently.

It's deja vu of last season meltdown Palace game onwards imo

That's little to nowt to do with nerves, lack of experience, or CS being selfish

And everything to do with team disharmony, fractious, not giving 100% effort and desire " downing tools " ; CS and Piroe wrestling match was symptomatic of untenable situation.

Regrettably DF appears currently unable to remedy/ improve team spirit.

Agree0 0Disagree

11 May 2024 09:58:21
That is In your estimation Baz.

Would you if not of said before the international break the team spirit was rotten and that there was infighting within the players, downing tools, Farke losing control, players not wanting to play go Farke any more, blah, blah, blah?

I’m sure most of us would definitely say No!

How all of that would suddenly manifest itself would be somewhat bizarre would you not say?

For me it’s no more than a loss of confidence because of the pressure, there was a lot of expectation to fight our way back from the bad start to the season and that pressure intensified enormously just at the end.
It’s a symptom in football that happens every season.
We are no exception.

Agree1 0Disagree

11 May 2024 10:56:30
Very good points there Dill and OP. Kinda makes me question my own perspective, to the point that I’m not so sure on what’s best imo now!

Agree1 0Disagree

11 May 2024 11:14:51
End if the day without him having a little bit of selfishness at times, he wouldn't have scored a portion of the goals he has, nor some of the assists. His selfishness has directly impacted the team for the good.

And yep, exactly that, OP. Load of nonsense calling him this and that when it's him just being confident/ cocky. Too many top players to name that are exactly that. He's delivered the goods this season for us. Would we even be in the play offs without him, never mind have been challenging for top spot? Obviously a rhetorical question, but I feel we'd have struggled massively without him and his selfishness/ cockiness/ confidence on the pitch.

And again, Baz, why single him out then if that winning mentality hasn't been in the entire team, when he's been our best player of the lot. The pile on is ridiculous and built on some very spurious opinions.

Agree0 0Disagree

11 May 2024 11:20:30
And drop Piroe if that's the case. Not Cry. Simple as. He's our best and most effective player, he deserves whatever latitude is needed to help him perform and in turn help the team win.

Piroe is lethargic, unathletic and a square peg in a round hole with how we set up anyway.

So many extenuating circumstances due to the drop off which have all been mentioned before such as fatigue, mental fatigue, perceived lack of experience, no leadership, poor results at international break, etc the list goes on. If Piroe can't get over someone else taking a penalty instead of him he's a bigger drip than I previously thought.

Agree0 0Disagree

10 May 2024 09:59:19
How do we feel about the situation with Jimmy and Joel?

I’m not sure what the story is about with these two players, if any? Certainly there was was a disagreement on who should have taken that penalty but if there is any bad feelings between these two they much get rid of it immediately or at least put it to the side for the sake of this promotion play off.

As in normal life like you and I, not everyone sees everything eye to eye and some take it a step further.
If there is any truth about a falling out it’s up to Farke as their manager to sort it out.

As for leaving them out of the match day squad, absolutely not.

Agree3 0Disagree

10 May 2024 13:31:40

Piroe taking pens since start of season (and hadnt missed any too should add ) . so evidently the official pen taker

So outrageous that ' all about me " CS should then wrestle and snatch the ball off him for his own personal glory and disturb team harmony

Weak captaincy. CS should never have been allowed to do so

Weak DF too.

Lol Baz. Cry has carried the team many times this season so he can have all the leeway he wants for me. Let Piroe moan about it until he's blue in the face, I'm taking Cry over him any day of the week and twice on Sundays. Without Cry we'd legitimately be in trouble, simple as that.

Don't care what it looks like to fans thinking he's got some attitude problem (I personally think it's confidence given he was on fire that game) if he turns up and contributes more than pretty much everyone else.

Doesn't really seem like an issue to me. Some of the best players in the world are selfish, so don't even see that as a particularly bad trait, just shows a desire to be the best they can be. Not exactly like it was a detriment to the team either, he scored. We won.

Pressed send by accident.
To continue I’m curious what the data would be on our missed chances on goal is this season?
Out of curiosity I looked backed on our game at Carrow rd earlier this season and we had so many missed chances on goal in the first half and went 2-0 down at half time.
Second half we managed to put some of our many more chances away and won the game 2-3.
We do posses a lot of fine talent in attack but sadly the chances they don't bury in the net is probably statistically very high.

Agree1 0Disagree

10 May 2024 08:34:12
According to the xG table we have averaged 1.6 this season and scored 1.76, so are weirdly putting away more than expected. I didn’t expect that as like you felt we were wasteful!

Norwich have scored 1.72 off 1.37 xG so are more clinical based on that.

On an individual level Rutter has the worst xG to goals in the league (11.47 vs 6)

Agree0 0Disagree

10 May 2024 09:53:36
For me, the Xg stat is another media led waffle statistic generated mainly for discussion, and increased gambling. Means nowt. Everything is slowly turning American, so I expect soon we will be voting for MVP rather than MOTM.
Give me the traditional stats every day of the week!
But yes, I’m sure there is data there which says we’ve missed an unbelievable number of “chances”.
Perhaps a call into Baz in Dictionary corner on Countdown could produce an informative definition of the word “chance”……. 🤔🤔🤔.

Agree0 0Disagree

10 May 2024 10:06:37
That is curious Brockley, I thought that would have been much higher.
As you’ve mentioned there, Rutter being the most wasteful, certainly earlier in the season he missed many opportunities on goal. His creativity and assists have somewhat made up for that but for our most expensive player ever that we have paid for and the huge potential that surrounds him, he should be scoring more.
I don’t want to criticize him too much because I really do think he will improve even further and he does look like he really loves being at Leeds Utd.
If anything, for me he lacks a bit of aggressiveness on the pitch or that bit more desire/ passion whatever you what to call it.
But then again I do think there are several of our players atmo who need to display more animation on the field, more vein bulging on the neck, fist pumping in the air and encouraging each other more, instead of the slumping of the shoulders and bickering that seems to be going on recently.

We’ve got the talent I have no doubts about that it’s just that extra bit of desire which evades us.
The players after a long grueling season in this damned league do look a little short in energy and I know it’s something that George makes a point about rotation, for me it’s purely in their minds, the players themselves have allowed themselves to fall off the cliff metaphorically speaking, they are far too conscious of themselves making individual errors which saps the confidence and belief as individuals and collectively.

It’s up to the players now to dispose of their negativity, as quickly as they brought it onto themselves they can about turn and show bravery and desire to win promotion.
They have the key to success, if they want it.

Agree1 0Disagree

10 May 2024 11:32:30
Although there is talent in iur front line .

One wonders how much actual desire there is from 2 or 3 to get Leeds over the line.

George has alluded to players " downing tools ' and with 8 points from 8 games thar looks nore evident than any other explanation for " loss of form"

Get DJ if fit in starting line up for Sunday its essential.

Just read the 90 minute article on top earners in Europe and world football.
That's just insane.
Ronaldo 3.3 million pounds per week. How is that even possible. What can you even do with that much money. It's ridiculous. And his off field earnings are about 46 million pounds a year.
Mbappe 1 million pounds per week.
De Bruyne at 400 thousand pounds a year earns more in a week than I do in 5 years.
Barcelona Sposed to be broke but lay out over a million a week for their top two players. Is de Jong even any good?
