It'll be an interesting encounter, we've got the better defence, and they've got better forwards, let's see who comes out on top. Comparing recent performances, BHA only managed to hold us to a draw on their home turf, but playing away at Old Trashyard they managed a 3:2 win.

They also haven't been a threat for a long time. The three points against them is very achievable, even at Old Trashyard.
I honestly can't see Carrick holding on to his job longer than December, but hey, let's all hope does because this is going to get very messy for them in my opinion.

I don't get that comment opti about not looking forward to playing Devon. How's our record against them over the last 5,6 or 15 years. I for one are not looking to playing gunners, city, probably Chelsea and Liverpool too. I don't like losing.
You just seem to pick at all the innocent reflective comments by everyone. It's perfectly reasonable to not looking forward to a fixture that there is a good possibility we will lose. Although I don't think we will this time.

I've missed this fixture for so many years in our exile in the Championship and League 1.
When the Premiership fixtures are announced, it's the first one I look for, both home and away.
I think yourself and one or two others need to ease off a bit at singling me out as some self obsessed, vindictive and hateful poster on here.

Arguably Baz, Darlow was slow off his line for the first Brighton goal, but blameless for the other two. The back 4 were all useless, but Carrick didn't bring on Harry Maguire from the bench, a bit slower now, but still hugely experienced. DCL will looking forward to playing against them if that's their best defence.

No football fan is happy to see his or her football team lose, thats just daft.
I think our team, probably more than any other big name team has lost the most games against non league teams in the Cup.
They are not feared teams, but it also shows how unpredictable Cup games can be, especially when so many changes are made, in reference to the Chelsea match.
Yes Cork, Man Utd are not the team they once were, we beat them last season away and a game on our turf I fancy us big time.
I don't fear for us against any team, even Arsenal and they thumped us last season, home and away. I always see games like the Arsenal one this season as a challenge to do better, do I think we will beat them ? probably not, but the excitement for me is how we can challenge them them better this time.
No team that we play this season will think they are guaranteed to win, we do already have some respect.

I'm sure your post was meant in a positive sense but in your post you say "I'm starting to look forward to the Man Utd game" as is if you doubted it before they played Brighton last night.
That doesn't sound so positive to me.
Were our results against them last season not convincing enough for you that we can beat them this season ?
Ultimately Baz, Man United are not the same team post Ferguson era.

I for one, can't wait for the Arsenal game; it will be a benchmark of how we are progressing.
The most disappointing game for me last season, was Arsenal at home. I was convinced we would give them a game. Arguably we played better at their place, even if the score line suggests otherwise. Away, we were terrible for 10 minutes either side of half-time; at home we never got going at all.
If we're on it, we can beat anyone in the league in my opinion.
I'm just happy we get the opportunity.

Toughest for me Ani was Brighton away, didn't help that I was sitting with some Brighton coaches, Forest away was the worst to watch, however given where we are I always expect they fight for the badge but cannot be shocked to be turned over by the Gunners who are probably in top five sides in the world just now.

I agree with Ani + OP here, right here right now our club should fear no 1 in this league, we are a solid outfit who cause issues for opposition all over zee park.
Our tempo / intensity is now akin to a 12 lth man along with our fans,it's others who now are feeling a bit nervous about once again coming to Beeston to try and win a game

We/ Leeds United may not / should not fear any team.but there still remain two teams this seez who are without doubt much,much better than us.

You obviously didn't see how much we improved especially towards the end of last season and continuing that momentum into the beginning of this season with some pretty decent new recruits.
Stats are always misleading, one bad cup game makes it look like we've been leaking a lot of goals in the Premiership, which we all know is not true.
On the contrary we haven't looked so solid in defense and goalkeeping since God knows when, not to mention how Bogle and Justin have and are linking up so well, with DCL looking like he has a new lease in life with zero injury problems.
By the way, what do you mean that we don't appear all conquering ? Do you really expect to win the league this season, I'm confused.
For me it's either a blind person or someone with a personal agenda who believes in everything contrary to any improvements at Leeds United, which obviously doesn't appear to be working out, while we sit third in the league, would only dismiss our clear improvements. and momentum in the Premiership.
Don't know why you would want to piss on everyone's chips with your fears and mistrust of pretty much everyone concerned at the club ?
Before anyone says stop trying to change his opinion, I'm not !

I'm sure we've all seen it somewhere. Leeds United, since we lost to Man City last November are 5th in the league table. One point behind Liverpool in that period.
So actually myself personally I don't get giddy beating any EPL team with the obvious exception of City Arsenal and, well that's it.
