Anybody know why some transfer offers are weird amounts. Like $60.8 mill instead of $60 or $61 mill?

It's a standard practice in negotiation to use non rounded numbers. could partly be that? Maybe also the use of %age clauses? Agents fees are also often %ages?
Just speculating, as its an interesting question!

Probably an exact number in one currency (say Euros) that someone has converted to Pounds Sterling.

24 Oct 2025 10:24:20
Thought of that jr but I’ve seen plenty when all are weird. Anyway. Think it boils down to big boys trying to be smart. I mean if you’re willing to pay 60.8. Youd pay 61 right.

24 Oct 2025 10:33:32
As JR said most likely converting between currencies.

Got this horrible feeling we are going to see the same starting 11 tomorrow. Personally don't want to see JH or BA or Pascal lining up, neither risk players that aren't fully fit, so has to be some kind of change.

We need to involve Bijol and Ao, if Amps is out no doubt Gruev will come in. Big ask for any youth but would like to see it on the bench. Dunno, just think we need to give some a rest and rotate.

As he has come out and admitted stach is injured I think that’s the only change. My guess is James will start and ba will cover stachs position.

Agree0 0Disagree

24 Oct 2025 09:39:08
Highly doubt BA will cover for Stach. that would be the biggest square peg ever! Amps and Pasc both illness doubts, and arguably could've faced the axe, so this may offer an excuse to drop them.

James is expected to play, I've read, so I think it'll be him and JH on the wings. Hopefully Oka and Willy make the bench.
Jones Knows predicting 3_0 gubbing to us, but 2_1 will do for me! Any win will do tbh!

If Brendan starts tonight

I am officially Farke. out

That lad is just lost.

24 Oct 2025 10:27:07
He won’t drop ba so you got to put him somewhere. Maybe forced to drop strik so you’d expect boji. Will he rest amps and drop stach? Prob not so. Ao or gruev for amps. Where’s ba going to play if James plays. He won’t drop ba.

I think Stach will start personally. He's already been playing injured so why change now?

So how are we all feeling about tomorrow night?
Nervous?
First time?
No I've been nervous lots of times.

Yeah great "Airplane" film comedy aside it will be no laughing matter if we don't pick up 3 vital points at home to what must be considered on paper right now one of if not the weakest opposition we will face this season.

Owners snd investors have jetted in too so that makes me wonder if they don't like what they see tomorrow night Farke could be axed.

Summerville returning, Bowen who has a very good goal scoring record against Leeds will make this not so easy despite West Ham being horrendous at home they'll no doubt raise their game at our place so I'm keeping everything crossed we can somehow find a winning formula and Farke can live to fight another day at least.

However I do feel the lack of adequate backing this summer was a sign the owners were keeping their options open incase a managerial change was required and funds will be suddenly available for a new boss to strengthen in January.

Can't say I'm a big fan of our owners and just because of that I hope Farke thwarts them and can remain in charge for as long as possible as that will invariably mean the team is picking up points and remaining on course for the survival target of a point per game. Reckon if Farke can get 4 points from the next 3 he'll be okay until December at least.

Hmmmm, interesting thoughts CW, thing is we can overthink things and speculate on nonenities. Believe the 9ers had a plan and executed it in
Nforcing the defence and midfield which looks on balance good. Of course no two games are alike and we have looked great/ average/ poor at times but that is akin to many sides.

The problem is and has been since ko scoring. I am very confident about tomorrow and it being a springboard for a little run, but then that's just me! 😁.

If he changes the starting line up and rest struik stach Harrison and ba we will win and Farke will stay.

We saw that it took a police escort for Martin to lose his job and only because he would have never been allowed back in.

I think that’s what the big boys are there for. Think Burnley defeat rang the warning bells.
Not 100% a win will save him. We have dropped too many unexpected points. My opinion. Could be wrong.

Many thanks fellas, gritting my teeth a bit this morning but trying to focus on tonight’s match for a much needed distraction.

The fact West Ham played so poorly the other day will probably mean they will up their efforts that much more.
A very tough game I predict, although a draw might be the betting man’s option I’m hoping for a little bit of luck to go our way this time and get those three very much needed points.

DCL Nine big chances this season and only one goal. This is a problem.

{Ed025's Note - he is a target man CORKEY but not a prolific scorer.. never has been and never will be, he will create chances for others but dont bank on him being your top scorer mate..

Agree1 0Disagree

23 Oct 2025 14:38:37
How many assists has he racked apart apart from his 1 goal tally 😂.

{Ed025's Note - to assist you need someone playing off him Ausman, its no use knocking the ball down to a shadow mate.. :)

23 Oct 2025 14:39:22
Trouble is Ed, top. Scorer could be nip and tuck with OG’s this season.

Read it’s currently our lowest conversion rate of key chances since 2013, obviously that doesn’t take into consideration the difference in quality in the EPL

But on the plus side we’re creating more key chances than any of the other sides down in the bottom half.

Harry Gray is the answer for me, well until January at least, and when he’s fit again of course.

{Ed025's Note - unless you find the next Haaland CO92 i think you may be disappointed mate, he will need someone along side him to forge the next Alan Clarke and Mick Jones partnership.. :)

23 Oct 2025 15:02:15
Unfortunately for us Ed, Mr Underwood purchased him on pretence of keeping us up this Seez,

{Ed025's Note - he can be part of achieving that Chris but he wont be able to do it on his own mate..

The problem is of course guys, quality deliveries into the box. We ain't going to get this with JH and BA, we desperately need Okafor, Willy and a performing DJ as well as maybe AO in the middle. Give DCL service he will score but as ED so rightly points out he needs assistance, just my opinion but Piroe could be the answer.

23 Oct 2025 16:11:44
I agree Class, I have said it before, give Harry Gray a chance to see if him and DCL can form any sort of a partnership, because Harry knows where the net is.

Are you saying dcl has never had service vid. Cause he’s never really scored has he? I mean at a rate to single handedly keep a team up.
I’d give gray a go too. When fit. But that would mean a c word.

Two builders go into the pub after a hard day's work. They're sat drinking for a while when a very smartly dressed man walks in and orders a drink. The two began to speculate about what the man did for a living.
"I'll bet he's an accountant. " said the first builder.
"Looks more like a stockbroker to me. " argued the second. They continued to debate the subject for a good while until eventually the first builder needed to use the toilet. On walking in, he saw the smartly dressed man standing at a urinal.
"Excuse me mate, but me and my friend have been arguing over what a smartly dressed fella like you does for a living? " the builder said to the man.
Smiling the man replied, "I'm a logical scientist. "
"A what? " asked the builder.
"Let me explain" the man continued, "Do you have a goldfish at home? "
A bit puzzled, but intrigued the builder decided to play along, "Yes, I do as it happens. "
"Well then it's logical to assume that you either keep it in a bowl or a pond. Which is it? "
"A pond" the builder replied.
"Well then it's logical to assume that you have a large garden. " The builder nodded his agreement. So the man continued, "which means it's logical to assume you have a large house. "
"I have a 6 bedroom house that I built myself. " the builder said proudly.
"Given that you have such a large house, it's logical to assume that you are married. "
The builder nodded again, "Yes, I'm married and we have three children. "
"Then it's logical to assume that you have a healthy sex life. "
"Five nights a week! " the builder boasted.
The man smiled a little, "Therefore it's logical to assume you don't masturbate often. "
"Never! " the builder exclaimed.
"Well there you have it" the man explained, "That's logical science at work. From finding out that you have a goldfish, I've discovered the size of your garden, all about your house, your family and your sex life! "
The builder left, very impressed by the man's talents. On returning to the bar the other builder asked, "I see that smart bloke was in there, did you find out what he does? "
"Yeah, " replied the first, "He's a logical scientist. "
"A what? " the puzzled second builder asked.
"Let me explain" the first builder continued, "Do you have a goldfish at home? "
"No" replied his mate.
"Well, you're a w@nker then! "

Liverpool are 4th. In a champions league spot and a few points off the top. Bit of a hiccup maybe but hardly the end of the world. There are 16 other teams that would bite your hand off for those points and position. Chin up chap. Things will sort themselves out. You can’t spend that much money and fail.

Oh yes you can spend that much money and fail Aus. For Liverpool finishing outside the CL qualification places would be a catastrophic failure, and with their flaky form so far this season, that cannot be ruled out. A defeat at ER on Dec 6th would make life interesting (in my dreams) .

I've been saying for a while he is injured. His form dropped after he took a clattering a few games ago.
