What looked like being a great window with the acquisition of Cuisance and hopefully a winger to boot to add to the three first team signings already made, now is starting to look dubious .

You can say the club were unlucky with the medical but why leave things so late in the window once again before securing one of our most important targets, that attacking mid to take the strain off Pablo and Klichy .

We are now left scrambling around looking to rescue the situation before Monday's close or having to deal with the sharks in the championship asking over inflated prices for champ players . They'd better pull their fingers out because as it is we are very vulnerable to long term injuries to certain key players where there is an obvious lack of adequate cover .

Namely Meisler, Ayling, Klich, KP, Harrison and Bamford . We lose two or three of these for a lengthy period and we will not cope well.

1.) 04 Oct 2020 10:10:45
Have faith RHC! We will bring in more.

2.) 05 Oct 2020 03:40:28
Looks like a couple more bodies will come in but even if not Rodrigo can play anywhere across the attacking line, which covers Klich, Harrison, Costa or Bamford unless several are out (plus Poveda looking handy) . Dallas can move to RB if needed and Struik looks good cover for KP in the short term (also believe Koch can play DM with Llorente slotting into CB) . Also rumblings that Bera could get a short term contract when he is back from injury which covers the whole back line. My biggest concern is an injury or loss of form for Meisler.

Where are rumours? red hot.

2.) 12 Aug 2020 11:09:24
Some good twitter sources are saying it’s done Aus.

3.) 12 Aug 2020 14:37:41
Seems Brighton turned down a %30 million bid for Ben, if true as much as I hate to say it. time to move on.

4.) 12 Aug 2020 18:49:19
Ben white going nowhere get a grip.

08 Aug 2020 11:08:31
Summary from latest Phil Hay Q&A :

MB will sign his contract early next week .

We are targeting the following : one centre back only ( BW first choice but Brighton playing hard ball, I imagine Struijk will cover Berra ) , Benrahma ( but lots of competition ) , a striker to compete with Bam, a left back and a goalie if Kiko leaves . Plus various under 23's like Gelhardt who should sign Monday .

Diego Flores probably replaces Carlos Corberan .

There's going to be another Amazon doc covering the run in . A two parter .

RedhotCurrie

1.) 08 Aug 2020 21:46:11
What I liked about Carlos with the under 23s and then with his link to the first team and involvement there, was that he was an LUFC employee direct not part of Bielsa’s team like Flores. Bielsa’s team invariably go with him, so having someone who doesn’t involved in the two key streams can leave some continuity.

22 Jul 2019 23:34:21
Phil Hay basically saying tonight Casilla is staying, no new centre back or striker unless Roofe goes . What a joke!

RedhotCurrie

1.) 23 Jul 2019 01:24:20
Totally agree RHC. Everywhere you look on the net the majority of fans are crying out for 3 signings mainly CH, CF and a midfielder.
Surely the top brass at Leeds can see it too so what's going on? Takeover? Young guns good enough?
Surely something. Only time will tell.

2.) 23 Jul 2019 07:04:32
Radz maybe trying to do it on the cheap and never never again. Only two weeks of the window to go, so there will have to be a major shift in policy if we are going to make any permanent signings.

3.) 23 Jul 2019 07:30:26
It's no surprise, white was brought in to replace pontus. We got players in quickly and think it has always been the case we are now only going to replace people like Roofe or Phillips should they leave. Bielsa likes his small squad, it's a dangerous game given the fast pace we play and amount of injuries we seem to pick up. We can keep getting linked to various players but in truth we not going to buy. Yes we all can see we need strengthening but don't count on it happening. In my opinion we will struggle to finish higher than last season and I don't think Bielsa will stay the full season, but hope iam wrong.

4.) 23 Jul 2019 14:07:30
I can't see any more signings either. Like Mezzer says I had a sneaking suspicion when Pontus went that White was his replacement. after 16 games in the league below it is a massive, massive gamble although Bielsa really likes White by all accounts.

I think Bielsa will stay if we are doing well but if we are in the middle or bottom half of the table around Christmas I can certainly see him getting bored and leaving.

5.) 23 Jul 2019 14:12:37
RHC I don't believe Phil Hay on this occasion. Can see us making 2 more signings.

6.) 23 Jul 2019 14:37:57
Hope your right bro!

17 Jul 2019 23:37:15
So quote unquote 90% of our recruitment is done . This to me translates to if we can get in a quality CB for peanuts we might go for it but Bielsa is quite happy with the squad anyway, so we probably won't bother . So we will go into supposedly our best go at promotion in over a decade relying on a midget rookie in White at CB ( as Cooper can't cut it ) and a rookie at striker in Edmondson once Roofe goes and MB finally realises Bamford is a complete and utter waste of space .

People pointing the finger at Radz, by definition need to start pointing the finger at Bielsa as he supposedly set his terms for staying on . A lovely man and great football coach but a man with a track record of being a brides maid never the bride . A man too set in his ways to see after a season in the Championship what's required to get out . If he can't see what most fans can see then I'm sorry but I will not be satisfied with another season of wonderful but ultimately losing football .
#The buck stops with BIELSA.

RedhotCurrie

1.) 18 Jul 2019 02:26:24
Too true Mr Currie. I cannot believe how he can not see the blinding obvious, we have no class or depth in this positioned. Two new CB's are needed, but I suppose one at the very least. We are now weaker in defense than last season . God help this club, even a child could see this.

2.) 18 Jul 2019 10:49:17
RHC Good post. Yet again, thoughts mirror my own but don't believe we're done yet in the window.

Calimick We are weaker in defence but only by a touch in George opinion. Can all be different if we sign the right player in the time left.

3.) 18 Jul 2019 11:48:47
George - I only hope you're right, as an experienced and quality CB is so obviously needed unless Coops can step up another level on last year and also cuts out his brain-freeze moments, which seems rather unlikely. And even if that were to happen we should have experienced cover for injury and suspension.

Very happy after last night's result although not the performance, particularly of Kane . He's either exhausted or weighed down by Daniel Levy's refusal to let him leave . Either way for large parts of that game we played with ten men . He was going through the motions with next to know effective pressing, never mind any meaningful play until his late goal . Paddy Bam Bam would have led the press and created so much more for others with his movement. Even Watkins would have been a major improvement. Big mistake not taking one of those as DCL and Rashford are not the answers .

RedhotCurrie

1.) 30 Jun 2021 16:38:06
Totally agree Kane has been a huge disappointment and looks disinterested the majority of the time. Maybe it was confidence and he will be better now?

2.) 30 Jun 2021 17:27:57
Is it just me or has anyone noticed Rice seldom passes to Phillips?

3.) 30 Jun 2021 17:37:02
He's in a conflicted predicament. Better he plays the higher his transfer valuation meaning less likely even Citeh will match what Spurs are looking for. Paddy should've been taken.

12 Dec 2020 15:26:10
Anyone calling for Bielsa to be sacked right
now should be absolutely ashamed of themselves . He's not perfect ( no one is ) but if any manager can get us back to winning ways and keep us in this division it's MB for me . No other manager in the world could have done more with these players than him over the last two and a half years .

RedhotCurrie

1.) 12 Dec 2020 15:55:56
Actually makes me angry that anyone could think that the solution would be to sack the manager! Get a grip!

2.) 12 Dec 2020 16:03:57
Red don’t think anyone is calling for him to de sack, but things need changing, we don’t know if he will be here next season also adds to the problem on a yearly contract don’t help, but something had a happen as team looks out of salts, if it keeps going the way it has he will walk for sure look at his record,

3.) 12 Dec 2020 16:07:27
You lot would be crazy to call for MB head, you guys will probably finish around 12-13th, yes ye had a bad game last night but overall this season ye have being great to watch and didn’t deserve a couple of those losses, keep the faith UTV.

4.) 12 Dec 2020 16:07:51
RHC Good post. We're simply in transition as a club and everyone in the team is sensing it. They know a few shall be moved on in the summer. Alioski, Cooper, Pablo, Roberts and even Dallas all look like summer sales. That's bound to affect team morale. I think the Pablo spat started the whole thing off and no coincidence we've been in decline since bar against Toffees. Bub will probably retire in May.

5.) 12 Dec 2020 16:17:21
RHC see my comment below for starters. For now it was a suggestion let's see how we do in the next 4 games for a definitive answer. He is certainly far from perfect and his stubbornness with Jan window and continued failures
with resolving the offensive and defensive set pieces is detrimental to our EPL survival. I suspect his stubborn mishandling of the Pablo situation has not helped either with team spirit.

I think your last sentence is possibly a little OTT too.

6.) 12 Dec 2020 18:36:50
Whackattack, we are not, one thing you should understand with MB he will never be we love him to much! MB will just walk away make no mistake about that.

7.) 12 Dec 2020 22:36:42
There will be lots of odd results this year is my guess, not easy with injuries we’ve not got the biggest of squads either, nice to see all the bigger teams dropping points hopefully some of us can take points off Liverpool and Spurs to keep the top tight anyone but those 2 for the title I hope, imagine Liverpool winning back to back😱 they won 1 in 20 years and already think they own the league.

8.) 12 Dec 2020 23:48:26
nope sack the manager sort out set plays don't matter how good the football is if you let one in every time they get a corner

appoint me. and for my first call in the job I put Bamford on there best attacker of a ball in the air. I have already improved us and I know little about football

if everyone knows it why don't our completely clueless joke of a manager

and it has been three years. three years.

{Ed0666's Note - someone’s been at the cooking sherry

12 Dec 2020 08:55:54
Right now I'm afraid I can only see the negatives of which there are many . The only players to come out with any credit last night were Meslier, who kept the score down, Ayling who adapted well to CB and KP who fought hard . The rest were poor with particular woeful mentions for Cooper, Harrison, Costa and Rodrigo . To be fair Bamford had little service and Raph wasn't a disaster but isn't the world beater some claim him to be . Hangs on to the ball too long, too selfish for me and didn't once get to the bye line . Our poor recruitment is coming home to roost . No new striker ( where would we be without Bamford's goals? ) , Rodrigo I'm afraid can't finish and isn't a midfielder either! So we failed to sign a striker and didn't get that Pablo replacement either! The two new centre backs whilst currently injured, haven't made us more solid at the back and our wingers look one dimensional . Teams are lining up to score from set pieces and this was even before we lost Koch and Llorente . Worse still the spark from the first four or five games have gone and we seem to have lost our confidence and zip . Long, hard season ahead . These next few fixtures were meant to provide opportunity but just imagine Andy Carroll and Chris Wood licking their lips at the thought of those corners!

RedhotCurrie

1.) 12 Dec 2020 09:38:50
Red : totally agree, Rodrigo full of eastern nothing , Meslier man of the match, Radz needs to think very hard in where this club is going, I do understand that is only our first season back but you can see the big difference starting to show, bam bam for a start he should be on the bench, only coming on when we need him. To keep Pablo out is a big mistake by our manager who I will say is great but not bigger than our club, and needs to think about the team let differences go. Can’t see as said winning the next two, but come the window Radz need to buy to save the second part of the season.

2.) 12 Dec 2020 09:40:31
Have to agree with pretty much everything you have said RHC On the flip side Bielsa has to work with what he’s got! We didn’t have 500 million to spend in the summer to build him a top six team so we have what we have and that is probably the most honest, hardworking squad in the league! We bought 2 international CH and both are currently out! We can’t do much about that except try and get by for the time being! My weekend has been severely spoilt by that result/ performance but realistically we are going to have games where we are not 100% on it.
I’m going to mope for a couple of days and then trust in Bielsa and the players to go again! MOT.

3.) 12 Dec 2020 10:29:53
Good post RHC
Whiteman completely agree re Bielsa and Pablo.

4.) 12 Dec 2020 12:30:57
Just to add for the first time in ages Bielsa’s substitutions were appalling . I was waiting for his usual first sub Poveda and may be Pablo . But to put on Shack, Costa and Roberts killed any chance we had as far as I’m concerned . Shack did good but it’s plain to see Costa was completely lacking in match sharpness and confidence after having been dropped and probably needed a 23 game or two before playing in the first team again . As for Roberts, well doesn’t it just make your heart sink when he comes on with ten minutes or so to go . Like he will effect anything at all .

07 Dec 2020 17:39:30
Forget Chelsea! I feel that the next two home games can go along way to defining our season . Two winnable games at ER . Win them and we are on 20 points half way to guaranteed survival with 25 to play . But god forbid lose them and we will spend the rest of the season looking over our shoulders . But they are far from gimmes! West Ham in particular are deadly on the break and powerful on set pieces and Newcastle ( the virus permitting ) whilst a very negative side, know how to grind out results in this league . We will need to be on it, take our chances and man up at set pieces . Oh and Rodrigo must start . Unfortunately, I fear he won't . Bielsa seems to have reverted to what didn't work at the beginning of last season where he played KP, Forshaw and Klich in midfield, with no natural number 10 and a clear lack of creativity. If Rodri had been on the field at one nil the other night we would have offered much more potency on the break and the result could have been very different. It could have been another Villa . Let's hope MB is more positive for these games .

RedhotCurrie

1.) 07 Dec 2020 18:22:30
Good post RHC spot on re Forshaw last year at the expense of a creative number 10
As I said yesterday Rodrogo must start especially in home games.
Will Bielsa do so though?

2.) 07 Dec 2020 18:30:44
Red, we need to start winning very soon as you say, but believe we need better players to make that happen the team are playing well with what we have but no match for some teams in this league, However staying up is our primary target. New investment on its way from 49 see what that bring but don’t thing it will be spent on players.

08 Nov 2020 08:07:59
The issue we have like most promoted sides is that we have a squad of championship players augmented by 4 better quality players in the window . Unfortunately, Villa aside, we can't currently cope in this league with four or five of our better players unavailable. Having said that, the players that did play the last two games failed badly to perform at their potential . Too careless in possession leading to far too many transitions against teams set up to take advantage . This has led to too much last ditch defending which looks what it is, desperate defending . Leicester you could put down to a collective bad day at the office in unhelpful conditions, against a potent attack but I saw more worrying trends yesterday, albeit we were unlucky with the offside and freak own goal . I lost count of the number of misplaced passes and I don't understand why we resorted to so many long balls, most of which failed to find a white shirt, gifting that most precious commodity, possession to the opposition . I assume a Bielsa instruction . We desperately need Rodri and KP back after the break to boost collective confidence levels . However, there do seem to be question marks over whether certain individuals can hack it consistently in this league . For me severe question marks over Alioski and Cooper short term and longer term both full backs need upgrading . I'm not sure Bielsa will see Llorente and Koch as ideal partners as many suggest as they are both right footed and although Llorente can play left side it's not his best side and was criticised playing there in Spain . Given our obvious short comings it's imperative, that Bielsa tweaks our gung ho approach, especially against low block teams, otherwise performances and results like yesterday could become the norm . It's simple, if we don't have the quality to play a certain way, then we need to find another way against certain teams or when we have too many of our better players unavailable.

NB : We have conceded two goals from corners so far this season . Our old Achilles heal . I felt MB had sorted it but on both occasions Koch was found wanting . Llorente is known as a beast in the air .

NBB : I agree the whole Berm / KP thing has been done to death and is boring as hell . So then why pray do half the posters on this site continue to wind Berm up and raise the KP thing all over again? If you know Berm won't resist another diatribe, then stop doing it!

1.) 08 Nov 2020 09:32:47
Excellent post. 👏👏👏.

2.) 08 Nov 2020 09:36:27
Agree curry well said so many call me out and then moan it is ridiculous.

3.) 08 Nov 2020 10:51:47
Let's be honest Berm, most people on here simply react to your nonsense comments rather than it being the other way around.

4.) 08 Nov 2020 10:51:59
Just put my final thoughts on kp it is a great post even if I do say so myself . sadly the Ed’s put it in the lesser read discussion page. please all on this site take a minute to read as I will not Be mentioning kp again but my thoughts and opinions have been summed pu perfectly.

5.) 08 Nov 2020 11:31:25
Very good post RHC agree on all points except perhaps your final paragraph.

Let's be factual here : up until say just the last 7 to 10. days it has always been Berm routinely ( he can't stop himself) inserting the SAME criticism of KP into virtually each one of his posts.

Occasionally others recently have then raised the KP thing to wind Berm up but in the vast majority of cases it has always been Berm that has iniated ( Berm in a few of his posts has even agreed that he needs to stop doing so ) .

It all needs to stop because it is indeed as boring as hell but Berm is obsessed with being right about his criticism of KP and appears incensed that very few concur so I don't expect Berm will sadly ever stop.

6.) 08 Nov 2020 12:48:20
Bv get of that high horse you’ll get a nose bleed read my post in discssion and have the decency to respond to that

For all your calling me out you got a great habit of banging on about some of my post yet ingnoring many others very selective and annoying like a politican I won’t mention kp but love to see your thoughts on my post but people like yourself aus and Spanish maybe bright will not have the decency to do so

Cos I make a good point and just might be right and I don’t think you could handle that . let’s see I await your reply on it.

7.) 08 Nov 2020 13:39:16
You make me laugh Berm 😆.

8.) 08 Nov 2020 14:10:21
I thought you weren't mentioning KP again Berm haha.

9.) 08 Nov 2020 17:59:44
Canada there is fat to zero chance that Berm will never mention / criticise KP ever again . Berm won't keep to his word ( again )

Would be an absolutely sensational signing he’s one of the best attacking midfield players in the world . Can play as a ten or 8 or even out wide .

Hess the writing is already well and truly on the wall and one result will not change it . This January window is looking like turning out like many others unless the three amigos pull their fingers out sharpish . But the rumoured structuring of the Bowen deal with the major part of the outlay contingent on promotion just smacks that they have learnt zilch from the DJ fiasco . They are either naive or arrogant or probably a bit of both . Latest updates suggest they are still not giving up on Adams and Gray but again that also appears like lessons have not been learnt . Supposedly there’s a foreign guy who MB rates and Sharp as the two back up options .

Looked like a minor injury . Pascal was cut down late in the game with a dreadful hack at his ankle which looked more serious . My abiding take away Koch looked dreadful and is not the cover we need for KP . If anything happens serious to KP or Bamford we have inadequate cover and would struggle to get results .

I’d be very happy if we missed out on the headless chicken from Chelski with no buy option! Surely there’s as good or better out there with the ability to buy later in this market . Also strongly feel the Norwegian kid is a massive massive gamble . Say something untoward happens to Mes first game of the season and he’s out for a few months, we are relying on this kid to marshall the back line . Don’t doubt the kids potential but smacks of trying to be too clever by half . We got lucky with Mes in that he wasn’t needed until the back end of his first season so had time to settle .
