We are apparently looking to make a minimum of 2 signings in Jan.
1.) 03 Dec 2025 14:19:51
I hope 2 minimum actually means 5 Alf.
2.) 03 Dec 2025 15:05:59
Problem with Jan signings is they rarely work Alf, Gio being a good example. Thing is most decent players are not available, the ones that are, well, they are usually surplus for a reason. Would like the Russian striker tho, can't remember his name, but he suggested he would be open to a move in the winter.
3.) 03 Dec 2025 15:25:36
Another GK and another DM?
4.) 04 Dec 2025 01:04:39
Better 2 really good than 5 just average. Ideally I'd like a decent striker and a good No 10, but whilst hat's not very likely those are the positions I'd prioritise. I'd love to get Gonzalo Garcia from Real Madrid, even if only on loan, but we're. never that lucky.
5.) 04 Dec 2025 07:25:25
We need a young quick striker and attacking mid. Still.
And if we feeling flush. A goalkeeper too. Get rid of gnonto, piroe and mez. Few bob there. They ain’t playing do luggage.
6.) 04 Dec 2025 07:42:28
We would likely have to sell players to get more than 3 in. We have around £30m / £35m to spend I think. Will likely look to shift Piroe and Gnonto. Maybe Struijk but we would need to keep him if we want to continue with a back 3.
7.) 05 Dec 2025 10:53:57
Ivan Toney and Harry Wilson would be a very eye catching couple of signings in January and maybe Kalvin Philips on a loan deal or a free as cover for one of our midfielders and if needed in central defence as I think Bielsa used him well in that position and was surprised Pep didn't try and do likewise at City where sadly his form and confidence has fallen off a cliff but maybe it's worth Leeds trying to help KP make a comeback.
8.) 05 Dec 2025 14:15:51
He is Leeds Cheshire. But not good enough now. Shame. Bielsa made him. Brilliant midfielder but the rest destroyed that. Shadow and burden on us now. Pass.
9.) 08 Dec 2025 21:36:52
Get KPback. He would fit into this team like a dream.
02 Dec 2025 10:58:31
O'Neill looking favourite now for next manager.
1.) 02 Dec 2025 12:04:32
O'Neil is not what you'd call a sexy appointment and no doubt it will split the fan base but imo his successful EPL survival experience would give us a far better chance of staying up than Farke and his stubborn self sabotaging 433 passive possession style which i'm sure it is only a matter of time before he reverts back to this.
O'Neil i'm certain would recognise instantly like the vast majority of Leeds fans how to get the best out of the limited creative quality the squad possess which is setting up in a more direct 3,5,2 system and even if we still go down we'll be going down fighting and I genuinly feel O'Neil is just as capable if not better than Farke to get us promoted out of the Championship straight away.
2.) 02 Dec 2025 17:52:47
O'Neil is certainly more capable than DF and has a track record of keeping teams up.
25 Nov 2025 12:55:14
some reports in forums that Farke will be sacked today or tomorrow. Reporters have not got proven credibility so we will see.
1.) 25 Nov 2025 13:49:46
Popey on Don't go to bed just yet podcast said 49ers will not knee jerk a reaction and sack Farke because he has dipped below 1ppg once. Apparently they will give him this run of games.
However, since that podcast, the 49ers have sacked their top two blokes at rangers. So who knows?
Maybe Evans and Underwood and Paraag will be joining farke.
2.) 25 Nov 2025 16:32:48
as I've said they will only get rid if they have a replacement lined up that they want.
20 Nov 2025 12:33:51
Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Garcia could leave in January.
? Leeds United are preparing a €25-30M bid apparently.
1.) 20 Nov 2025 12:50:41
Packet of crisps and mez dcl bourn bij done deal.
2.) 20 Nov 2025 13:07:36
Keep Bij Aus, the rest can go as a swap plus cash deal for me.
3.) 20 Nov 2025 13:36:35
Possibly mid.
4.) 22 Nov 2025 21:34:57
Will he be happy playing in the championship?
5.) 24 Nov 2025 12:56:28
We couldn't spend £8m on Wilson without breaking FFP so we're obviously not signing a £25m striker.
17 Nov 2025 07:43:23
Fair bit of noise about Bo Svensson as next manager but I haven't heard the name from any of my more connected sources.
1.) 17 Nov 2025 09:13:29
What names have you heard from your connected sources?
2.) 17 Nov 2025 23:27:44
The ones already mentioned. Rodgers, CC, Carrick.

Great result today and probably the performance of the season. We are a different prospect when we play to our strengths. I just hope we keep on doing it. Utilise our size and strength and play people in their natural positions and hey ho.
01 Dec 2025 10:27:29
DJ was substituted at half time on Saturday due to a hamstring issue so could be he misses a few games.
1.) 01 Dec 2025 12:55:53
We need largie back. Can’t rely on dj or gnonto in prem. Or we need to buy an upgrade on all of them in Jan. with injuries kicking in. Jan is crucial. Although changing formation ( bless ) might assist us.
{Ed025's Note - dont expect too much in January Aus, its notoriously hard to make signings then unless you pay massive rates mate..
2.) 01 Dec 2025 13:42:26
Thanks Robbie Ed-ans :p.
3.) 01 Dec 2025 13:49:55
I know Ed. Hard times. It’s hard for newbies like us to survive. Not saying pool buy their survival. But bloody hard for us to even survive.
I’ve been thinking.
It’s not a big gulf between divisions.
I mean we are pretty much playing a lot of the elite often. That’s the same for others.
If you look at fa cup. You get the odd upset. But not hundreds.
So. Small margins matter. That’s why most of the poor teams don’t get pulverised ( gunners etc apart ) . But just lose.
Is that tactics? Belief? Management? Acumen? I dunno.
But imo.
The gulf ain’t that big. We have lost a lot of games we been competitive. Lost mind. But coulda sneaked something.
You have to have that extra. Can’t rely on the odd upset.
{Ed025's Note - you have and will get decent results at times Aus, beating the teams around you especially at home and i think you have a half decent chance to stay up mate..
4.) 01 Dec 2025 13:59:05
I don't think we've seen enough of DJ and Gnonto yet to be able to say that we can't rely on them in the prem. Willie went to sleep in the first minute on Saturday in the run up to their first goal, but nobody was good in the first half.
DJ troubled them a bit with his pace, but was then pulled off at half time, and now looks like he'll be spending some time in the treatment room - again!
5.) 02 Dec 2025 10:39:36
In my opinion any signing in January will only be a desperation one and probably a loan, doubt it will be a player we really want long term.
What we have is all we’ve got, no miracle season saving players coming in as far as I’m concerned.
6.) 02 Dec 2025 13:04:58
Ditto OP.
As you were, gentlemen.
7.) 03 Dec 2025 00:43:21
That's always how it is with Jan window signings. Will not be of the quality we really need long term, but if we can find someone just good enough to provide a little bit of extra impetus to get us over the line (ie 17th or above) then I for one would be happy with that. ?.

Premier League clubs have voted to overhaul the league’s financial regulations from the start of the 2026-27 season.
Squad cost ratio (SCR) will replace the league’s current profitability and sustainability rules (PSR) , which limit club losses to a maximum of £105million ($137m) over a three-year period.
1.) 22 Nov 2025 07:14:54
Does that help or hinder us Alf. I read it but couldn’t really understand it.
2.) 22 Nov 2025 08:17:06
Under SCR, a club’s squad-costs (player and coach wages + agents’ fees + transfer amortisation) must be kept to around 85% of its football-related revenue (ticket sales, TV deals, sponsorships, merchandising, player sales) .
This makes the rules more predictable and harder to “game” with last-minute sales. It also rewards clubs that grow their revenue, as higher income means a bigger spending allowance.
In short: PSR looked backwards at losses, while SCR looks forwards at how sustainably a club is spending based on what it actually earns.
It would possibly help us as our future earnings as a EPL club would be greater than our historic earnings in the Champ. We have a large revenue as a club, however, overheads are high also so that might balance.
Definitely still favours the status quo though.
3.) 22 Nov 2025 09:15:40
Also makes the proposed ground expansion a bigger positive! Plus expanding our market reach thro 49ers and AO!
4.) 22 Nov 2025 10:19:02
Some inaccuracies Alf. I believe it's the profit on sale of a player that is included in the turnover figure. This will often be significantly less than the sale proceeds and could even be a negative figure if there is a loss on sale.
Both systems PSR and SCR are based on information in the financial statements, that one focuses on losses and the other on revenues makes little difference. It would stop clubs like Chelsea fudging things by selling their ladies' team (possibly) .
Finally, both systems favour clubs that are financially more successful as they are both based on the P&L so in that sense any system will favour the bigger clubs who in general are financially stronger. If there were exemptions for clubs like ours for say the first two years after promotion (to either set of rules) then that's something that would make a major difference but don't hold your breath.
5.) 22 Nov 2025 10:39:08
Well we voted against Aus along with Brighton, Palace and Brentford, so I think that shows in terms of riches the divide is only going to increase over time.
They have voted to ban selling assets back to subsidiaries of the clubs (hotels, women’s team) but of course the proverbial horse has already bolted for the likes of Chelsea who flagrantly scammed the PSR regulations. And don’t hold your breath on Citeh receiving their sanctions.
Super league sadly, is firmly working already the addition of foreign clubs only a matter of time.
6.) 22 Nov 2025 11:43:24
Shame it won't help us next season when we're in the champ.
7.) 22 Nov 2025 12:34:09
Got it. Didn’t realise it was so simple ??.
02 Nov 2025 18:09:11
Lots of knee jerk reactions after the game yesterday. It was inevitable that there would be days like this in the Prem and there will be more. Just don't let the losses get you down too much and don't get carried away by the wins. Lots of football still to play and we are still on target for 1 point per game.
1.) 02 Nov 2025 20:47:33
Alf, are people mad because we lost, or because of how we lost? There's a big difference.
2.) 03 Nov 2025 08:20:54
Knee jerk reaction Alf? Funny.
Poor v spam. Spanked by gunners. Lucky to play Everton pre grealisisish. Shoulda beaten Bournemouth and Fulham. Lost to Burnley. Yep Burnley. Only good display was wolves. Deserved point.

Two builders go into the pub after a hard day's work. They're sat drinking for a while when a very smartly dressed man walks in and orders a drink. The two began to speculate about what the man did for a living.
"I'll bet he's an accountant. " said the first builder.
"Looks more like a stockbroker to me. " argued the second. They continued to debate the subject for a good while until eventually the first builder needed to use the toilet. On walking in, he saw the smartly dressed man standing at a urinal.
"Excuse me mate, but me and my friend have been arguing over what a smartly dressed fella like you does for a living? " the builder said to the man.
Smiling the man replied, "I'm a logical scientist. "
"A what? " asked the builder.
"Let me explain" the man continued, "Do you have a goldfish at home? "
A bit puzzled, but intrigued the builder decided to play along, "Yes, I do as it happens. "
"Well then it's logical to assume that you either keep it in a bowl or a pond. Which is it? "
"A pond" the builder replied.
"Well then it's logical to assume that you have a large garden. " The builder nodded his agreement. So the man continued, "which means it's logical to assume you have a large house. "
"I have a 6 bedroom house that I built myself. " the builder said proudly.
"Given that you have such a large house, it's logical to assume that you are married. "
The builder nodded again, "Yes, I'm married and we have three children. "
"Then it's logical to assume that you have a healthy sex life. "
"Five nights a week! " the builder boasted.
The man smiled a little, "Therefore it's logical to assume you don't masturbate often. "
"Never! " the builder exclaimed.
"Well there you have it" the man explained, "That's logical science at work. From finding out that you have a goldfish, I've discovered the size of your garden, all about your house, your family and your sex life! "
The builder left, very impressed by the man's talents. On returning to the bar the other builder asked, "I see that smart bloke was in there, did you find out what he does? "
"Yeah, " replied the first, "He's a logical scientist. "
"A what? " the puzzled second builder asked.
"Let me explain" the first builder continued, "Do you have a goldfish at home? "
"No" replied his mate.
"Well, you're a w@nker then! "
1.) 23 Oct 2025 08:39:33
?, sometimes we all draw those conclusions Alf ?,
2.) 23 Oct 2025 16:13:44
The old ones are the best Alf! ?.
04 Dec 2025 07:42:28

TBF Liverpool won against Wet Sham so mebbe we're safe?
02 Dec 2025 17:52:47
O'Neil is certainly more capable than DF and has a track record of keeping teams up.
25 Nov 2025 16:32:48
as I've said they will only get rid if they have a replacement lined up that they want.
17 Nov 2025 23:27:44
The ones already mentioned. Rodgers, CC, Carrick.
08 Dec 2025 15:28:46
never like a square peg in a round hole. he may be able to play there but would prefer a proper 10 IF we are to play one. don't really need one in some formations though.
04 Dec 2025 17:51:26
Yes a red imo.
04 Dec 2025 17:22:51
we could do with another CB if we want to continue with 3 at the back - we don't really have any cover there currently.
04 Dec 2025 17:22:03
it was a wonderful set piece - we definitely need more of those if we are to survive.
04 Dec 2025 00:12:41
And congrats on your win also Ed. Starting to look good for the toffees.
