I friend I know works with the marketing team at Elland Road. Apparently new owners possible as links with a " locally based" major airline and holiday group grow by the hour. A Sticking point is around changing the shirt colour to match the colours of the planes described as " ruby" by the Chief Executive. As is common these days, a name change for the stadium would be likely, " the low fare finder fun bowl " is the early favourite.

Press conference called for 11.30 am this morning. fellas.

1.) 01 Apr 2019 08:12:06
What on earth are you on about Spanish?

2.) 01 Apr 2019 08:30:37
Delboy, what date is it pal😂😂😂.

3.) 01 Apr 2019 08:40:35
Delboy, obviously can’t say too much yet but apparently the news has to be announced this morning!

4.) 01 Apr 2019 10:00:50
Can't wait, after a lifetime I'll finally be able to wear a red shirt 😂🤣🤣🤣😂.

5.) 01 Apr 2019 10:44:42
Bollucks, every year 😂.

6.) 01 Apr 2019 11:23:00
Will that include cheap tickets to Valencia?

7.) 01 Apr 2019 17:08:38
Or an April fooooool.

8.) 01 Apr 2019 17:24:46
The Newell's Old Boys English Twitter feed caught a few people out as well, saying Bub was returning as DoF for next season, follow the link to GOTCHA 😁😁😁😁.

9.) 02 Apr 2019 09:14:20
Good one Spanish.

02 Mar 2019 01:19:34
I think Tuesday hurt the players! The response was fantastic. Third game in less than a week, that's not a team tiring or fading away. Can anyone not believe after that set of answers!

To me it shows how much the players want it and how much they want it for Bielsa!

1.) 02 Mar 2019 07:09:27
Great shout Spanish think that sums it up what a night at Elland road.

2.) 03 Mar 2019 11:38:05
They were hurting

He put the same team out with the message

I believe in you, put it right

& they did

Here endeth the lesson.

28 Jan 2019 19:56:44
I knew that if we were patient enough and kept taking the blue pills, that something big would pop up and take the attention away from Soygate! I'm not being hard on Big Alan but I think Penisgate is bigger! Bit of a cock up posting photos of your asset on Twitter in error! Easy mistake Big Al, I've done it a few times myself with messages to Fat Frank and the Vicar! Cum on everyone now there's a new scandal to talk about!

1.) 28 Jan 2019 20:30:14

2.) 28 Jan 2019 20:31:13
I think it might be much ado about nothing 😉.

3.) 28 Jan 2019 22:05:36
Hope the pic didn't live up to his last name.

4.) 29 Jan 2019 11:15:53
Sorry, missed all that I will have re looked in the Times AND the Telegraph.

5.) 29 Jan 2019 14:32:54
Me too. Havnt a clue what you lot talking about.

6.) 29 Jan 2019 14:37:17
Leo and Martyn Type in to your preferred engine of search "Alan Hardy penis".

7.) 29 Jan 2019 15:04:01
Been a bit picky George but it's not like he's bringing the game into disrepute is it? Any way the efl are too busy looking at ways to punish teams that don't break any laws. And lastly why are you typing 'alan hardy penis' into your search engine George?

8.) 29 Jan 2019 15:36:01
Martyn I didn't but you did 😆😆.

9.) 29 Jan 2019 15:49:05
Actually George I didn't need to as I only got as far as Alan har and it came up. No punt ment.

10.) 29 Jan 2019 16:34:15
It’s a funny world when scouts watching football is a dodgy behaviour and chairman accidentally sending pictures of their todger isn’t!

11.) 29 Jan 2019 17:28:45
Maybe it was Harvey he sent it to?

12.) 29 Jan 2019 17:39:18
He would have turned round for the piccy to Harvey 😉.

13.) 29 Jan 2019 18:47:20
What a balls up, count himself very lucky he wasn’t wearing binoculars at the time! Still think Harvey will go on him though.

25 Jan 2019 21:18:51
Good luck to Will Huffer, months loan to Barney, national league. Could even be involved in an FA Cup tie on Monday. Good experience for him. Imagine that means Miazak plays for the under 23s. Again good run out for him. Unless the plan is for Bailey to play at under 23s for game time.

1.) 25 Jan 2019 22:36:48
Would he be cup tied?
Not sure if he was on the bench for us and if that would even matter. Anyone know?

2.) 26 Jan 2019 09:46:18
There was an FA Cup specific rule that said that you weren’t cup tied if you were on the bench and didn’t appear. I’m assuming that’s still in place anyone know?

3.) 26 Jan 2019 11:41:28
Probably a clause saying unless it's Leeds then even the tea lady counts.

4.) 27 Jan 2019 01:32:13
The Barnet manager (only Tony Currie's nephew) reckons the England coaches think highly of him :) another one for the future.

5.) 27 Jan 2019 07:51:01
I like Huffer, he talks and shouts a lot, whoever is in front of him. Think he could grow into a very good keeper.

6.) 27 Jan 2019 13:37:41
Sounds like my missus. Talking and shouting I mean.

7.) 28 Jan 2019 01:19:19
Is she not a keeper then Corky? Best for you she doesn't read this :)

8.) 28 Jan 2019 20:29:29
Said over a year ago future England player.

17 Jan 2019 11:18:50
Welcome Kiko! For me this is a world class appointment. Obviously a skilful player capable of the Bielsa way but more than that, coming from immersion in one of the worlds greatest clubs. It's a classy appointment that brings real strength and confidence to the GK group. This could be a massive benefit to us until the season end but also into the future. Well done all involved!

And to Bailey, thank you for everything you have done this year. Take up the challenge and use this as a motivation to up your game and learn with him. if you keep your place because you show you are better than him, then good for you!

Marcelo said any appointment has to be an improvement on what we have, Kiko clearly is.

1.) 17 Jan 2019 11:36:44
Good to have some positive news. Welcome aboard Kiko!

2.) 17 Jan 2019 15:10:23
We used to sarcastically remark that an Orta signing was "One for the future" meaning they were of no use now and we could just hope that they may come good some time in the never never. Now we can remark that they are "One for the future" meaning that we can use them now but they will still be up to the mark once we achieve promotion.

3.) 17 Jan 2019 15:41:21
I agree Kiwi. I’m surprised there hasn’t been more reaction to this appointment. To me it really is a very positive signing. Without being unkind, the defense will now have someone with experience that they can look up to. This guy has mixed it at the highest levels. Ok bench or third more recently, but still involved in the training sessions and training and learning with two of the best in the world.

It will raise Baileys game, like Hernadez with Clarke and Bailey will also be able to help Kiko with Championship experience.

Are people happy with this as a sign of investment in one player? Not asking about the whole window but just this one addition?

4.) 17 Jan 2019 17:07:40
To be honest, Spanish, I think, even if we get no more through the door (which I'm hoping isn't the case) , Kiko plugs the biggest gap which has been most apparent so far this season. BPF has been excellent for his years and given we're the team with a target on our backs, however, Kiko will be the loudest voice in that box and command our back line. Bailey will kick on in coming years, I have no doubt about that.

Would love to see a winger or two, throughly underwhelmed by Harrison, but loads of potential in the kids coming through and if the past week has convinced me of anything, it's that I have 100% faith in Bielsa and his plans!

5.) 17 Jan 2019 17:29:42
Agree behave, and have a bit of faith in Harrison, looked better over the last few weeks. Honestly think JC is giving a bit of a encouragement to the other wide men. You don’t only learn from those around you who are older. He is showing the way in the wing and perhaps encouraging the others to drop their shoulder a bit and give it a go.

6.) 17 Jan 2019 17:32:06
KC welcome to the sunshine band we will march on together.

7.) 17 Jan 2019 19:32:04
You’re right Spanish, it’s a huge signing, and rather than BPF being disappointed, he should look at it as a great opportunity to develop with someone who has been coached by, and alongside some of the best in the world. He and Huffer should both move forward in leaps and bounds over the next couple of years!

8.) 17 Jan 2019 21:55:54
I see what you did there Boston! 👏🏻.

Just one final thought today on our status and fame as a club getting back to where we belong. We have to earn it. Since we were relegated from the premiership we have been in the championship play offs once before this year. Derby have been there 5 times, Ipswich 3 times and Blackpool twice! I know clubs have been in and out of other leagues but the list tells a story of the clubs competing at the very top of the league and we don't really feature. That's the size of the task after 15 years away. This year needs to be the start of a revival and not the end of really a one off attempt. We might knew our history and believe we should be back in the premiership but for many looking at the lists we are an also ran championship club. You need to keep knocking at the door before someone usually let's you in. Hopefully we have now set a standard that the club can work to. Automatic promotion or in the playoffs until it happens.

16 May 2019 12:39:41
Just to say, great discussions today but got to disappear soon and do some other things in my life! Bright, Al and Tewit, hope you are all alright guys and have recovered. We need you all back on here.

Bermondsey, if you write plays as prolifically as you post, you'll be the new James Patterson!

And one missing poster today, Georgie, hope you are ok. I'm sure you have been reflecting reading and you are about to unleash something!

Keep smiling everyone, enjoy and remember the good bits, there have been lots of them!

1.) 16 May 2019 13:26:04

Have a brilliant time, whatever you are getting up to. And thank you for your amazing contribution this season

And to every other poster, even those that I have stupidly had snipes with, I want to thank you all for every single post.
Due to work commitments, I am unable to get to more than a few games each season but the passion that oozes from each posting gives me goosebumps for my team and keeps me going

And my point if view.

If MB can do that with a Evans/ Christianson/ Heckingbottom created squad I can't wait to see what he does now that he can earmark the next incoming transfers

He identified James before Christmas, when no one was talking about him, and look how he has blossomed. Can't tell me that he was the only one MB has identified.

And James's improvements must show Radz that MB's judgment is worth backing
(I doubt MB had any say on the incoming transfers of Baker, Brown, Harrison or Bamford as they were too early in his reign)

I am sure a couple of our 1st team will be poached by PL outfits in 5he summer but if we can replace them and add 3 higher quality extras I can see it being another excellent season ahead.

2.) 16 May 2019 13:34:26
Just wait until you realise there is only one meaningful thing in your life (around August) . Enjoy you short hiatus Spanish.

3.) 16 May 2019 14:16:21
Take care Spanish - hope to see you next season.

4.) 16 May 2019 15:15:41
All the best Spaniard!
Trying to explain to my Bulgarian wife why I’m in such a mood is proving difficult.
This is going to take some serious time, and alcohol, to recover from.
Back next season as Champions! On, on, on fellas! 🍻🍻🍻.

5.) 16 May 2019 18:03:36

Good luck in whatever you are taking on. With your spirit I am sure you will succeed.

Though who will step up to the mark with your missing U23's reports? There are one or two promising understudies I think who might.

Enjoy life and take care.

MOT 💛💙 😁.

16 May 2019 11:35:29
As you know, I always try to be a positive poster and I love what we've done this year and do think that we've overachieved .

I think some posters are underestimating the challenge of doing it again under Bielsa and I think he recognises that as well and has said as much.

The style Bielsa plays and has shown no desire to change involves a high level of fitness and commitment from all the players involved. He got the buy in for this year because for 99.9% of the year it promised success and worked! Now it hasn't, close but with enough failings in key parts of the season for everyone to fairly question it!

Bielsa 2 could be Bielsa trying to do the same again but with enough different and some better players, but I don't think Bielsa 2 will work with largely the same group of players. I think there could be more changes than people think and some of them could be painful if new money isn't available! I don't think Bielsa 2 can be about doing Bielsa 1 all over again with just a little bit more.

The alternative is a new manager with a different spin or Carlos 1 which is a bit of a compromise.

I'm still not totally convinced that even Bielsa wants to do it or really believes he can, that's the first step for me.

1.) 16 May 2019 12:07:15
As usual Spanish I agree with you. I am ambivalent should Bielsa stay or go. Stay, if his heart is in it but with changes to his character. Less stubborn, more flexibity. Less reliance on the players who got it wrong this week to go out and get get it right next week. If he goes then I will not panic for I believe a smooth transition can be gained with the appointment of Corberan to lead the charge. Faces must and will change but it is not major surgery. Adroit use of the loan system and young guns will see us in a good position to gird up and go again.

2.) 16 May 2019 12:24:48
Bielsa underestimated this league and deserves another go. Hopefully this time he'll realise you can't have too big a squad.

3.) 16 May 2019 12:30:04
Bielsa isn't going to change his character so get used to it. Maybe his apparent stubbornness or inflexibility was mainly based on the fact that we didn't have any better options than the players he stuck with. We have a sub standard set of players and very little in reserve so what choice did he have? It's easy to say bring the youth through but there is no point doing that if they aren't ready - maybe next year after their championship winning season they will be better prepared for the step up but I don't think it would have worked this year.

4.) 16 May 2019 12:34:14
Bielsa is not going to change his DNA, he might change the players but not the plan he uses, not radically anyway. Just don’t see it. Be realistic, look at his management history. I honestly don’t think Bielsa will change in the way you and Bermondsey are wanting him to. Needs a very honest discussion about him, his ideas and his needs and the budget available. My worry is a half hearted Bielsa 2, bad start to the year and a sacking or walk out before Christmas.

5.) 16 May 2019 12:41:18
agree with both sides

if he can adapt and learn from mistakes like pep did then he is our man but history would suggest he might not do this in which case he has to go

the more i think about it carlos seems a good fit but with the problems i think we have not turning the ship around he is part of that ship so its 50/ 50 if he can be a step up or more of the same but under 23s would suggest he is worth a go

i know it is not popular on here but i think we could do a lot worse than sign chris houton.

6.) 16 May 2019 13:39:52
Agreed lads. A Bielsa team runs out of gas at the crunch end of the season and we are surprised? My only worry now is that he is too entrenched to change.

7.) 16 May 2019 14:18:24
Agree with you there BW he knows how to get promoted from this division and the type of players needed. Defensive football but possibly less taxing on the heart.

8.) 17 May 2019 03:18:09
A BIG no to Chris huton.

15 May 2019 22:56:18
Well done Dallas and Shackleton, great engines both of them and can count themselves unlucky to be on the losing side. Crowd absolutely superb. Tonight was a fair reflection of the season. These players created the opportunities and at key moments weren't able to make the most of it. Fair play for Derby for changing their approach and putting the pressure on, the Casilla/ Cooper error was the turning point for me. Horrible night! Shout out to Bright and Cork for the voices of reason tonight on here. The patient is now officially dead so the inquest can begin. Happy to get involved in that but not tonight, need to mourn first!

1.) 15 May 2019 23:56:34
Hey span well said. We are hitting and sometimes we are bad losers. Let's man up and take it on the chin. We have another good season coming and I for one say it will prepare us better for premier league. Remember Brighton suffering the same not so long back. It took them time to get up and they are still there. Wonderful season full of excitement and emotion. Thanks all posters both positive and negative. It could be a lot lot worse like Bolton or blackpool. both huge teams in their day. We live to fight on. MOT.

Chris CC, all businessmen will want to come to the club and make money and the money comes from being successful and having a team doing well that people want to watch. Most successful year since we returned to the championship. It’s a start not a finish. I think we could be in a lot worse hands than Radz and we have been.

Good post, the manager needs to decide if he wants to be here next year, if he can try to do it all again and what he will need to do it. Then the club needs to decide if it can give him what he needs. Some big decisions that shouldn’t be rushed but that also need to be made quickly in order to move on.

Swansea were always trying to hold on to their key players and only sell as much as they needed. I suspect that James was the last one that they wanted to go and from memory he wasn’t the only deal that fell through on the final day once they had what they needed. In the end it worked out for them, they have benefited from his play and they should get a much better fee for him, so you can see why they did it.

I missed that as well Georgie, the postings were a bit frantic post Derby! Saw a couple of one liners but nothing else. To be fair although your score predictions were a bit out in places, I thought you called the 2nd half of the season pretty well. James not been signed, a real bummer and us falling to the pressure of the moment, although not necessarily at all the moments you predicted. Relax and enjoy the summer!

I’m not sure we should be building around Cooper as first choice centre back or captain. We can’t forget that in our key moments this year we showed defensive and leadership frailties when we most least needed them! Cooper should have been leading the way with both. He is one of those that Bielsa possibly has taken as far as he can go.

If Pontus wants to stay and hasn’t been a real pain in the rear this year, making him captain, staying and leading the team, might appeal to him and might be a master stroke, if he doesn’t want to stay or Bielsa agrees with Noel Whelan, get shut and bring in 2 centre backs who can compete with Struick and Cooper for starting places but with Cooper expected as back up if he accepts that and wants to stay!

Goalkeeper is another position wide open for me! Good to see that we have retained Huffer and Miazak for another year, both look good prospects, but neither Bailey or Kiko really standout for me as Championship winning keepers!

You are right about all the loanees, good to check them out again preseason, we will have a lot of faces at Thorp Arch. Hope we do like last year and effectively have two squads playing games. I’m assuming the B team will have some U. K. gigs whilst the First team goes to Australia which to be honest is seeming a bit of a distraction now!

Last year Bielsa used these games to test a few players out and Klich emerged big time from that. We could if we could unearth 1/ 2 more.

Great point Martyn, it’s the ability to pick someone up relatively cheaply that can become a leading goal scorer at least for one year, Pukki and the resurrection of Sharpe once again for Sheffield who he plays that extra hard for. He wasn’t a goal scorer for us!
