According to Ekrem Konur, Leeds United are keen on West Ham defender Konstantinos Mavropanos. Fee would be around £30m.

15 Jul 2026 17:56:06
He's right footed, I think. We need a CB who's left footed, or at least highly two footed / competent playing on their unnatural side.

0

15 Jul 2026 18:05:08
£30m? He's valued at EUR18m. As mentioned, we need a left footed cb, Tarik being the guy. I could see Mavrapanos being a replacement for Bornauw, who seems to be heading out the door.

0

15 Jul 2026 19:40:43
Spot on AW, he'd be a good addition to the squad, but not at £30M. If it's felt we need another CB, I'd make it clear to them that £15M is our absolute max offer.

Take it or leave it. It's most unlikely he'll be playing for Wet Sham next season cos he won't want to play in the Champo, and they need the money, so play hardball with them.

Naaaarwich have reportedly enquired about DJ's availability. I know; they can't afford him.

2

15 Jul 2026 14:11:43
Tbh, he feels like an albatross contract now to me. Major injuries last term, wrong age for a pace merchant. If they offer £5m-7m and take his wages I'd call it a good deal.

Maybe eat a bit of his contract, but add a clause that, if they get promoted, they cover the entirety of the outstanding contract.

3

15 Jul 2026 14:31:14
1000% Ealing. Get rid. Face facts. He peaked. And even that wasn't great.

2

15 Jul 2026 15:08:55
I read that Norwich are going for it this season, so I wouldn't be surprised if they bid 8-10 million for DJ even though they splashed out 8 million on the Sheffield Utd player.

1

15 Jul 2026 15:45:35
Ealing's proposal works for me! I'll email Delia with our terms!

1

15 Jul 2026 16:36:31
Personally, hope DJ stays at Leeds United this seez. ..He deserves a run injury free..I expect he will do so.

2

15 Jul 2026 17:57:45
He feels like a marquee signing for Birmingham or more obviously Wrexham to me than Norwich, but who knows.

14 Jul 2026 23:57:39
Villa interested in Stach.

0

15 Jul 2026 06:29:50
I don't see Stach as irreplaceable. He had a good season, but it depends on the coin.

1

15 Jul 2026 06:30:26
I'm surprised that at this point, they're the only ones! He's gonna be very difficult to hold on to.

1

15 Jul 2026 08:38:04
Villa have lost two midfielders through transfer and injury, and Rogers might go as well. The price midfield players are currently selling for means we'd make a very healthy profit if Stach was sold. Enough to buy a cheaper replacement with potential, and a big contribution to the kitty for keepers, striker, Fb's and Am.

The recruitment team were good last year at keeping some of the potential transfers under wraps, and I trust we'll see the same this window. Maybe it's like a duck - not much happening on the surface, but a lot going on under the water. We can only hope.

1

15 Jul 2026 10:14:50
Stach got as many GA as Anderson in far fewer games, so Vile need 150 mill, which they ain't got.

3

15 Jul 2026 11:01:54
I'd say 75 would be ball park.

0

15 Jul 2026 11:44:33
Villa have just lost Tielemans, so have a place to fill, but it's interesting that they target Stach. The so-called "big" clubs have a more short term approach, and home in on the man in form.

Teams like Villa tend to have a more considered method, so if they fancy Stach, it's because they see him as a good long term investment, which is precisely why we should turn down any offer and hold on to him.

2

15 Jul 2026 12:58:27
Also lost Onana, who did his ACL at the World Cup, so they'll need at least two midfielders.
Villa have money problems and are concerned about breaking UEFA regulations, so they need some hefty sales. They've sold Tielmans and Watkins is supposedly talking to Fenerbache, but selling Rogers would solve their problems.
They might be looking for three midfielders by the end of the window.

0

15 Jul 2026 13:25:02
Turn down any approach for Stach, but do them a favour by offering to take Ollie Watkins off their hands. Much prefer him to Openda.

1

15 Jul 2026 14:15:18
I'd take Watkins, but it's £30m plus fee and £160k per week for a 30-year-old. I don't think that fits in our wage structure, but it's getting there.

1

14 Jul 2026 23:56:11
Oumar Solet linked with a move to LUFC.

0

15 Jul 2026 10:21:04
Can't see Farke being willing to sell Stach, however, every player has their price. I'd set it at least £65m.

1

15 Jul 2026 13:06:15
Villa interested in Stach as above. 9ers will sell any player if the price is right, but will have replacements identified.

1

15 Jul 2026 14:33:18
So funny Alf. Are you a Christian?

0

14 Jul 2026 23:26:44
Daily Mail confirm we are still in talks with Charles and also want another LB, CB, AM and striker. Assume that's alongside a keeper or two.

2

15 Jul 2026 06:30:38
Unless Farke is thinking of trying without a keeper.

1

15 Jul 2026 09:16:54
Come on, Aus, playing a rush keeper is one of the most exciting forms of football there is. 🤣

2

15 Jul 2026 11:02:46
That would mean 3-4 spare spaces on the bench though. 😂😂

2

14 Jul 2026 16:41:06
Apparently Tarik deal is done ✅ £30m with add ons.

5

14 Jul 2026 19:07:10
Says who?

0

14 Jul 2026 19:10:09
Don't know much about him except he's tall, physical, had a good first season in Serie A and was involved in the tackle that Balogun was sent off for. It's a lot of money, so hopefully everyone at the Club has done their homework.

Just as a comparison, Esteve, a left-footed CB, has just left Burnley for Leipzig (?) for a similar amount. He's ok but not outstanding, so hopefully we've got a relative bargain if it all pans out.

2

14 Jul 2026 19:13:31
I've also read several sources claiming it to be done.

3

14 Jul 2026 19:51:04
Dimarzio and FabRom, amongst others, tho our first thoughts (Alf included, I guess) are not "ooh! Better remember that for when Baz challenges it on that rumours site!".

4

14 Jul 2026 21:13:44
Fabrizio has just said "here we go", so it must happen! Although I'm sure he said "here we go Paixaio" last year?

0

14 Jul 2026 21:18:02
EUR40 million! He'd wanna be good.

1

14 Jul 2026 22:06:51
Not sure why people follow the rumours section, if all they can do is shoot any transfer news down as false or unconfirmed. It's a bit of harmless fun. Just stay on the banter section if it bothers you that much!

9

14 Jul 2026 22:40:17
Exactly, Class!

4

15 Jul 2026 06:35:30
Summed it up perfectly, Class! Someone just likes to take regular dumps on any and all rumours, anything about the board and its employees, and hit the panic button while doing their Kackson Pollock on everything, repeatedly!

4

15 Jul 2026 13:08:00
It's pending a medical, Longlostfan, so not 100% done yet, but indications are very positive.

Of course, you never know in football. If Citeh came in with a bigger offer, then he could end up there for all we know!

1

14 Jul 2026 14:09:12
Schmidt is apparently off to Young Boys.

2

14 Jul 2026 15:51:10
Yes, 15 million I hear, with add-ons.

1

14 Jul 2026 16:39:56
Knock one or two zeros off. Maybe £15.

1

14 Jul 2026 17:04:18
£2M to £2 1/2M is rumoured, but £10K per week off the wage bill.

1

14 Jul 2026 17:58:21
I think we only paid around £1.7, so recouping anything around that would be acceptable.

2

14 Jul 2026 19:09:40
£15 million for Schmidt!.. If only. That would have been some sale, lol. 😆

0

14 Jul 2026 20:19:12
Schmidt must have some talent, as he's played for Switzerland. If we'd been playing 5-3-2 when he joined, I believe he would have found it easier, as I think he's more suited to playing that offensive fb role, supporting the midfield and overlapping.
However, if we get our money back it's a result.

3

15 Jul 2026 01:14:17
Tongue in cheek lads.

1

15 Jul 2026 06:36:28
Very true that Dunelm!

1

14 Jul 2026 11:47:50
Torino have agreed a loan for Perri for the coming season with option to buy. It won't go ahead until we sign a replacement. If we take too long over it then Torino will look elsewhere, but as things stand we need 2 GK incomings.

3

14 Jul 2026 12:34:43
Jeez, a transfer fee £16 million plus large salary contract wasted by our recruitment dept on Perri.

..A woeful, to at best, mediocre gk signing..

And yet, we have the exact same peeps now recruiting 2 more gks.

6

14 Jul 2026 13:25:48
If Perri is going with an option to buy, it's an absolute shambles and could take a large slice out of our transfer budget if we need two new keepers. It should be an obligation to buy, at least.
I'd rather keep Perri as number 2 and bring in one new recruit as our main keeper.

8

14 Jul 2026 13:31:23
Good points, Dune.

2

14 Jul 2026 14:07:39
Yep. Helluva balls up by recruitment. In the most important position. One step forwards, two steps back, and now being caught cold on Darlow having to spend big on keeper when we shouldn't have. Yippee Kay yah. Roaming roaming. 😕

2

14 Jul 2026 15:35:18
Poor on behalf of Leeds re Darlow. I bet they thought he wouldn't go!
Chanced their arm and Darlow took a big payday (can't blame him) . Unless you are a Leeds fan, you probably don't get the rivalry! He could be in for stick in Dublin!

1

14 Jul 2026 15:52:51
We gotta stop with these loans, especially the ones without an obligation.

3

14 Jul 2026 17:17:01
Agree, Corkey. Since the last relegation we've probably had over half a team out on loan with no obligation.

0

14 Jul 2026 18:57:06
And they all keep coming back no better than when they left!

0

14 Jul 2026 19:10:48
Dune.. Largie, though, had a good season at Valencia.

2

14 Jul 2026 22:13:59
Baz, Largie is probably the exception. I've made several posts where I've said that we should keep him in the squad, even if it's to give us something different and bring him on later in the game. The rest have regressed.

3

15 Jul 2026 13:09:20
We tried to keep Darlow and would have preferred him to stay, but wouldn't/couldn't match the offers from Man Utd or Everton.

1

13 Jul 2026 13:46:41
Ger of The View saying the Charles deal is done.

9

13 Jul 2026 21:50:50
But conflicting reports elsewhere saying Leeds' 3rd offer has yet to receive a response.

0

13 Jul 2026 23:14:21
Leeds United have certainly had too many elongated, endless transfer sagas over the past 4 or 5 seasons, always leading nowhere. Often involving unattainable players in CDK, Paxo, Strand Larsen, Rodrigo de Paul, etc.

Leeds never used to have these transfer sagas in the past, and we often shopped for realistic targets.

I do recall the great Tony Yeboah signing took a bit of time, but few other sagas, and even a surprise signing in Rio Ferdinand was completed quickly from the Hammers.

I hope Leeds United's recruitment team spends more time now on seemingly more attainable, and, importantly, far more useful targets than SC.

4

13 Jul 2026 23:29:40
Fao: BV 4, I think he is an important target myself, a player we have chased for a while, given Gruev has a year left on his contract, and Longstaff won't be happy with his time on the field last year. Could see either departing.

1

13 Jul 2026 23:55:06
Yes, Frogmax, but.

SC would cost £25 to £30 million of our limited budget..

No EPL teams were in for Longstaff last season, and certainly not at £15 million we paid, so cant see him leaving.

Gruev could possibly go on a free or a very small transfer, but better to keep him as a squad player for the final year, imo.

Leeds defo have far more pressing recruitment, imo.

1 possibly 2 gks
1 cf
1 cd
1 rb
1 lb

48 days left of summer transfer window, not long.

Aimo.

2

14 Jul 2026 05:59:43
Baz, I get your point, mate, but nobody in the media, and certainly nobody on here, knows what the transfer budget is.

Yes, it was rumoured to be £80m + money from sales.

I can't see the 9ers blasting £25+ on SC.
£30 on a keeper & £36m on the CB.

Around £90m, and if we believe the media, that's budget basically gone given the £80m + £18m from Pascal.

We know we also need, possibly, another CB, LB, along with a back up keeper & another striker, and a possible atm.

The math ain't mathing, as the yanks would say.

2

14 Jul 2026 07:24:46
Yep indeed, Dave. The math aint mathing.

2

14 Jul 2026 08:43:28
Don't think we need a right back.

2

14 Jul 2026 09:46:03
Don't think we really need a cb. We got 3 and amps.

0

14 Jul 2026 10:03:35
Sell a few of the deadwood, get a few bob, save on their extortionate salary, maybe we can afford some reasonably priced players.

1

14 Jul 2026 11:46:45
We do know what the budget is because the 9ers released it to shareholders last year. It may have changed slightly, but I think it will be there or thereabouts.

0

14 Jul 2026 12:36:08
Corkey, we will defo need a better defensive RB and LB. Farke very unwisely reverts back to 442.

1

14 Jul 2026 12:44:48
OB, hopefully sell some players, but there are issues.

Gnonto on 50% sell-on clause for his previous club.

Some peeps want DJ and Harrison sold, but few suitors, if any, for sales, esp with their very high wages and 2 or 3 more years of contract.

Perri and Largie only wanted on loan, it seems.

Longstaff, if sold, would be at a considerable loss.

Gruev, Borneau and Wober could go for small fees.

Tanaka could defo go at a good profit.

BA will likely go if no new contract is signed, but transfer fee likely no more than £8 million imo.

1

14 Jul 2026 15:19:03
Baz, we have JJ and Bogle. No way on earth are we buying another RB. It's probably our strongest position?
