Harry Wilson is taking longer to replicate his excellent Fulham form last season especially he was their standout player and we all got very excited at the prospect of having his game changing creativity within the Leeds ranks but unfortunately an injury has also put a spanner in the works to seeing Wilson make a meaningful contribution this season in a Leeds shirt but I still harbour great hopes that his undeniable class will be witnessed by us all eventually and we'll be applauding his efforts instead of some fans I've read impatiently writing him off.
I think it may take until nearer Christmas time for us to see the best of Harry but I'm confident he will come good so in the meantime I just wish Farke would stop replacing Okefor and Tanaka who for whatever reason have to come off with Aaronson as one of the subs as unfortunately despite his great energy and enthusiasm levels is effectively reducing Leeds to 10 men as his ratio of one good game in at least 12 is not meriting his entrance onto the playing field as a first option substitution.
That's it, we can all see it and should have accepted a reported £15 million offer for him while his stock was probably the highest but his form this season is returning him to the we will be lucky to get 7 or 8 million for him.
He's a nice young man has a beautiful wife and is a millionaire so you can't feel sorry for him and if you want the best for Leeds United then Aaronson should not be ahead of Longstaff or the new lightening quick French winger Farke only gives a handful of minutes to that had he got the minutes Aaronson was afforded we may have carved out a decent opportunity to get the draw we deserved yesterday.
Anyway apart from that frustrating issue Farke and the lads continue to look like a a very good top half EPL outfit that if Farke could improve his substitution choices could elevate Leeds to a Europa League finish.
Time will tell.

I had a look at this a few weeks ago, and historically his strongest periods for fulham normally started around November. Last year he was unstoppable then, the year before that pretty decent too Nov through Jan. He strikes me as a purple patch player. Once he gets one or two he'll be great for a while and then slip back into norm.
Essentially between November and January we should just be playing Aaronson and Wilson. Three of Aaronson's 5 assists and all four of his goals came late Oct-early Jan. Obviously that's a bit tongue in cheek. Im not sure how much weight I put behind players turning up at certain times of the season. Does seem to be truer for Wilson especially though.
11 Oct 2026 14:35:57
You clearly have not seen Longstaff this season. Given few minutes because he had been rubbish. A great pre season maybe. But against the real game. Terrible. On current viewed form. I'd hesitate to put on the bench. And Wilson too. Very poor. I'd try youf before either.
11 Oct 2026 18:58:31
Hopefully Wilson comes good asap.
11 Oct 2026 19:28:02
Yes fair point this season about Longstaff being off it this season and why it is frustrating we don't have a better option off the bench as I watched with horror Longstaff's performance against Chelsea and how it contributed massively to our 2nd half collapse but I think with Ampedu and Stach alongside him he is usually someone that is far more reliable and consistent than BA who is wholly unsuitable and inevitably means we look far too lightweight in the middle of the park which the opposition takes advantage of and dominates.
So the point still stands that when Tanaka and Okefor are replaced it shouldn't be in any way shape or form be a reason to call on Aeronson as a first option replacement and I would think a returning from injury Gruev would leave us less exposed than the introduction of BA.
Therefore I do hope DF isn't repeating his tendancy to stubbornly ignore common sense and overwhelming fan justified criticism of a player like he did with Meslier as that really would be wasting a golden opportunity to elevate Leeds to a Europa league position.

According to NewsNow, we are one of a number of PL clubs taking an interest in Irish U21 striker Tommy Lonergan who plays for Irish club Waterford. Allegedly Sunderland, Everton, Brentford and Brighton are also taking an interest in him.
10 Oct 2026 11:04:56
Lonergan having a great season in the League of Ireland with Waterford he has been scoring regularly and has helped Waterford to reach the FAI cup final. big step up but from LOI to Premier league though but a young player with loads of potential.
10 Oct 2026 15:28:02
After today we need to be realistic. Great first half but with better strikers we would have been in front. 2nd half Arsenal bench and speedy response from manager showed where we are in comparison. Trafford is an upgrade but still learning which is why we were able to get him. DCL is good but will never be prolific and needs someone to feed off him as a pair.
Midfield is ok but bookings kerbed their performances. Defence was great but more vulnerable as defence flagged. Wilson currently seems like a mistake but hopefully will come good. Bench is too light weight against the top teams. Overall a credible performance against the champions.
10 Oct 2026 17:26:18
Accurate assessment Coxy.
07 Oct 2026 01:30:14
Bayern interested in Gary for 60 mill. Not enough. Don't sell.
08 Oct 2026 00:41:51
At this time, don't sell for £160M.
08 Oct 2026 01:26:40
Spose that's what a majority of mid table clubs have to do. Sell to improve. 80 would get us a good replacement and decent striker.
08 Oct 2026 14:06:46
I'd take 80.
08 Oct 2026 14:08:48
Agree with Aus - if we have the chance to double our money I think we would take it.
08 Oct 2026 15:10:28
Have the replacement lined up and confirmed before we sell him, and indeed two or three others. Don't want other clubs knowing we would be flush. They can speculate we might be but if we buy after selling they'd know it.
£80m would be a good price. £100m if its a Prem team. You don't 'want' to sell these players but if we do it means we've had a terrific season and that player's had a good season.
£80m buys a replacement, buys the replacement/upgrade on Nmecha. Maybe a little change.
08 Oct 2026 20:51:33
In the long term we don't want to be a selling club but at the moment we have to take a pragmatic view until we get fully established in the Premier League.
We have a fairly solid defence but if we get an enormous fee for Gary all the previous posters are right that we can get a good replacement and a good striker and maybe have a bit left over to improve our squad ratio figures.
I'd be sorry to see him go but think that JR, Elvedi, etc can step up.
09 Oct 2026 20:13:27
I said above, "at this time, don't sell for £160M", the crucial words there being "at this time" meaning the next window in January. If at the end of the season we get an offer of say £70M+, then that's different, but NOT mid season.
10 Oct 2026 11:17:27
I don't know. £160m is obviously hyperbole. But if its a case of getting over £100m (which would be a record for a defender) in Jan vs. £80m in the summer. I think I'd do it provided
We weren't in a title challenge (wishful thinking) . Weren't realistically going to make Champions League. Didn't have an outrageous injury problem at the back. Weren't in relegation, and so far away from it selling our best defender couldn't see us getting dragged into it.
The January market is notorious for desperate buyers and inflated prices. If we were stable enough to sell safely in line with inflated prices then I'd do it. Im not automatically against selling in Jan subject to the conditions above, but the price would reflect its Jan.
11 Oct 2026 00:34:03
Yes mpy £160M comment was just hyperbole, but if we didn't have an injury problem at the back in January, or weren't at risk of being drawn into a relegation dogfight, that wouldn't mean that either of those things couldn't happen in Feb after the window had closed and there were still 15 games to play. I repeat I would not willingly sell at that time at any price.
The only circumstances that would make me sell would be if the players head had been turned by an offer, and he was throwing his toys out of the pram at it being refused, and even then I'd demand a humungous price. Summer window when the season is over, different.
06 Oct 2026 19:49:20
Interesting to see Pavel Sulk tonight. He had a good start against us in the last match until he got sent off. His name has been linked with us for some time.
06 Oct 2026 21:37:24
Not top of the list. Move on.
05 Oct 2026 07:58:45
In the summer window when it was thought we were looking for a striker, one name that featured a few times was Nicolo Tresoldi at Club Brugge. He was born in Italy, but has played for the German U21 team. His form so far this season has been good with 3 league goals and 1 in Champions League. Worth keeping an eye on.
06 Oct 2026 18:24:39
He didn't have a great return last season in Europe but one every two games in the Belgium League. We need to look far and wide because Nmecha might not be here next season and DCL needs some good back up.
Just wondering where Matteo Joseph fits in this puzzle. Is he going once he's recovered from the ACL injury? Allegedly some of the hierarchy would like to keep him.
07 Oct 2026 01:04:30
Problem with Joseph is that potential buyers are going to want to see him playing, to decide whether he's worth a punt after many months out with a ACL injury. He's unlikely to be playing for us, so to put him in the shop window, a short-term loan seems the most likely option, and depending on how he does we can then decide whether to keep him or not.
07 Oct 2026 14:42:35
Don't think Joseph even champ standard. Will need to loan lower league or serie A lol. Anyway. No bucks for mats.
04 Oct 2026 19:56:13
Jack Moylan. Signed for Cardiff from Lincoln this summer. Definitely a player we should be looking at.
I think the lad has talent:
06 Oct 2026 07:56:52
Will watch out for him, Corkey, as he's a player I know nowt about!
25 Sep 2026 15:47:05
Just reading the citeh have been found guilty of breaking financial regs. If they are in the s*** financially, I think it could be worth putting in a loan bid for Haaland to come home.
25 Sep 2026 17:21:21
He makes about 600k a week not to mention the world record setting loan fee City would demand.
We know they've been found guilty but the report isn't even technically published yet, hopefully within hours. Give it another year and another commission for them to decide what the actual sanction will be.
Another year for City to appeal that sanction to the Premier League. Another year on top of that when they appeal to CAS. Give it three years before any relegation or points deductions even begin to materialise.
Even if Haaland decide he's been lied to and wants out. Madrid and Barcelona will be calling.
The romantic in me wants it of course, the realist knows it wont happen or he'll be 36 when we get a shot, not at 26.
25 Sep 2026 19:03:34
This is probably not yet the end of the story, but my bet is that they'll eventually wriggle out of it somehow or at worst just be given a rap on the knuckles and no significant punishment.
I recommend a £50M fine and relegation to League 2, but hell will freeze over before that's going to happen.
25 Sep 2026 19:18:56
Sorry JR, if they are found guilty then unless there is a really severe penalty then the whole game is brought in to disrepute and opens the door for every other club to break the rules without any threat of punishment.
Chelsea reached an agreement but Man City were arrogant enough to think they could get away with it. No contrition. No humility.
If they appeal the penalties could be even more severe.
25 Sep 2026 20:08:22
Isn't the appeal process under the same time constraints as the Southampton one? i.e. has to be concluded in a set number of days? Both appeal and ruling.
25 Sep 2026 21:05:39
I fervently hope you're right Dun, but I have a nagging feeling that they'll get away with a mega fine (a few £10Ms) and a huge points deduction (say 30-50 points) but crucially will still be in the Prem the next season, because they'll be seen as too big to fail.
25 Sep 2026 22:14:17
Don't think there's a time limit on the appeal but the unidentified panel will also make the recommendation on sanctions. They probably know what they are but will they release them before the appeal against the guilty verdicts?
26 Sep 2026 07:27:31
Appeal within 14 days but no time limit on how long before a decision made. A new panel hears the appeal including someone with a judicial background.
26 Sep 2026 07:37:12
Cheers for the info, Dunelm. There should defo be a time limit on setting the punishment! Can't see them taking forever tho, given everyone will be waiting in the wings to have a legal bite of Citeh themselves!
26 Sep 2026 08:35:46
Interesting listening to the reaction of City fans. Most, including Noel Gallagher, took a fairly balanced view and didn't try to defend the club. Some, however, said they didn't like the regulations and that they were specifically aimed at City so the club were right to ignore them.
It's like saying I don't like the offside rule so it doesn't apply to us.
Agree Bright, it will be interesting to see what the other PL clubs demand in compensation.
Burnley got over £30m from Everton for a relatively minor breach of the rules but one that could possibly have contributed to Burnley's relegation.
This should be a good time for the PL to ensure that all these dodgy accounting practices are permanently stopped and although it will never be a totally level playing field it will reduce the chances of buying success.
26 Sep 2026 09:49:09
In reply to Ealing, City can't appeal to CAS. They can appeal to a new independent PL panel with a judicial member but that's it. The clubs are signed up to that.
26 Sep 2026 11:59:50
yep saw, someone mention that after I posted.
26 Sep 2026 15:19:33
If there's no time limit before a final decision, that's a shame, because the lawyers will string it out as long as they can to maximise their fees.
Whatever the verdict on appeal, are further appeals allowed, or is that it?
23 Sep 2026 17:41:18
Dan James looking to leave in January as for Bahoya may not be staying at Leeds as Farkey is not impressed with is out put on the training ground. In Leeds news.
23 Sep 2026 18:08:02
Come on White man
Because some nobody prints a rubbish story due to having nothing constructive to write about now for 3 weeks,,you can honestly believe the muck that you read
There no way Danny would put that into public domain even if it were true.
The lad will get his run,he now has a nice break to just get to know team properly and every day that scenario improves.
23 Sep 2026 22:46:12
Not sure on DJ but with Anton stach recently playing further up the pitch it does mean 2 positions (LW/RW) or (LW/AM) or whatever the 2 positions end up being behind the striker.
It leaves
Aaronsson
Stach
Wilson
Okafor
James
Bahoya
All fighting for 2 positions. Sometimes stach plays deeeper and tanaka drops out but still means some1 misses out. I know they play different sides but specifically the right side seems to be Stach / Wilson / Arronson / James.
So it wouldn't surprise me if James if weighing up his options in January subject to his desire to play regularly or bench warm.
24 Sep 2026 10:04:30
The little tweak on formation has caused a few problems. I'm glad he made it. It was necessary. But leaves a few players scrapping for one spot really. Bayou untried and Wilson and stack underwhelming. And Okafor and James on different wings.
It's a conundrum. Think adding an extra mf instead of having two wingers a good thing. Bogle and Justin more than enough poke on that side. Leaving Okafor on his own. Or no Okafor and ba or Wilson.
25 Sep 2026 00:20:20
If James wants to go, I'd say let him. Full respect for giving his all for years. Work rate not in doubt. A pace merchant who couldn't deliver, somewhat harshly i feel half his goals have been mishits. But he often tracked back, tried. Even if it led to penalty awards against like Chelsea.
But a pace merchant past his best? Too good for the championship at his peak but not good enough for prem. Now a clear Championship player. A fair amount still on his contract too. Hopefully we can convince Wrexham he's worth a punt as they try to go up. Maybe a low upfront fee in Jan with a clause giving us a few more million if they come up.
25 Sep 2026 00:44:00
Wrexham's highest paid player Keiffer Moore is on £30, 000 a week
Dan James on £85, 000 a week till June 2029
No chance DJ leaving Leeds imo.
26 Sep 2026 12:07:15
Doesn't mean we can't subsidise an exit in fairness. Happens all the time. If we wanted a fee (hypothetically) of £7m and Wrexham or someone else says we can't afford those wages, we take £2m. The difference between 30K a week and 80K a week is about £2.6m. So we offer to subsidise a few years of James' money (maybe have a clause written in that we don't if they get promoted) . We get a small fee and not insignificant salary relief for a depreciating asset with a chance to recoup fees for a side trending towards promotion.
Realistically, I'd expect Wrexham if they moved for James, to pay him more than an ageing Kieffer Moore, maybe not a lot more, but closer to 35K-40K too.

Just a post note to my comments yesterday that I respect not everyone will like the fact I have questioned whether our owners have done their absolute best to give our magnificent loyal and patient fan base the very best squad/team on the pitch to cheer.
I think they are doing a good job but I personally think they could do a better job and still get a nice return for themselves and their investors as I do not believe they couldn't have found an extra £50 or £60 million to purchase the two better options to either come off the bench or be a first team replacement for players like Stach who I think are not playing to their normal high level.
I think this season is presenting a rare window of opportunity for one or two clubs outside the so-called big 6 mega wealthy clubs to enter the top 6 as Spurs and Man U are in transition and looking quite average and even Liverpool and Chelsea have considerable issues in defence and midfield that I think Brighton and Brentford are certainly looking a good bet to finish top 6 and Leeds could also be considered too if they can strengthen in January.
I'm happy with the general direction of travel our owners are taking the club but whether you call it being a "conspiracy theorist" term invented by the CIA in 1963 to control the masses and insult and label people who didn't believe the official JFK shooting explanation that got too close to the truth, then so be it, I just want Leeds United to be the very best it can be like all of us and hope our owners can see the value of going that extra yard this season.
