If we do end up in the play offs and despite our horrible form I believe we will still go up.
Southampton and Brom are on a losing streak. Norwich and Hull hard to beat but not exactly winning all around them.
Leeds v Norwich final?

I think the playoffs will test farkes management skills or lack of, personally don't think he has it in him last few games have shown that something is missing qpr game especially.

According to Deloitte Sports Business Group, reaching the top flight via the Championship play-off final will earn the winner an increase in revenue of at least £170million across the next three seasons.

Keep the faith Boys and girls.

Speaking of which, didn't there used to be a lady on this forum? Can't remember her moniker but she was definitely a laydee.

Let's say Tractors lose 1-0 to skyblues thus making there goal difference 8 worse than ours.
We then assume that our shower of sh&*$#te can beat Saints at home by a lucky own goal - thus we are promoted,

But not so fast, this is LUFC and you can bet your life the Tractor boys will trounce the Dog botherers, scoring there 10th and final goal in the 8th minute of injury time.

I am actually not bothered if we go up, at least in this league we can be competitive, in Prem we would have no chance of actually winning owt.

1970 A return to the EPL what we would "win" is superior finances enabling stadium 🏟️ expansion. We'd have to hope we finish 17th or better. In absence of our ascension, we'll forever be a Championship club possibly vying for promotion each season but watching our talent get snapped up requiring replacements difficult to find and entice. This dynamic would actually render us a mid table Championship club because the likes of Rutter, Gnonto and Summerville will have gone creating a 70 g/ a season void. Let's try "win" our stadium 🏟️ expansion therefore.

28 Apr 2024 06:52:46
I don’t think we are able to compete at the top level.
I think our best players will be on their way. With what is left we are certs to come back down.
As much as I hate to say it, think we need another 1 or 2 seasons in champ. Regroup and rebuild and get a settled team ready for the prem.

Deluded Aus if that's what you think we "need".

Think having a bigger stadium fixes everything eh.
Only one deluded here matey 👍.

Whilst I think we would currently struggle in the EPL with the current squad, you would hope with the huge increase in revenue, the 49’s would sanction an upgrade on the talent. You would hope lessons would be have been learned from last time.

To be fair, going down last season only occurred because of the total capitulation in the last 10 games. To that point, there had been 5-6 teams worse than us for the most part. Players checked out a long time before the season ended.

It would be no where near as much fun, and we would (as fans) be grieving most of the time, but I think we would survive…at a “Brentford” level if we did go up.

Agree1 0Disagree

28 Apr 2024 10:55:56
Leeds do seem to struggle at the last hurdle.
Maybe they should apply for a shorter season, there must be a clause within the Equality Act 🤣🤣.

Agree0 0Disagree

28 Apr 2024 11:02:53
Ani ; to survive at a Brentford level would require a good ( and savvy) coach

More Thomas Frank ( less Farke)

It's a lifeline for us, just hoping Coventry can beat them. Ipswich are the favourites but they will be edgy on Tuesday.

Agree0 0Disagree

27 Apr 2024 22:54:20
Yes hull did OK. They played better against us but deserved the point. still Ipswich won't give up. See if Coventry have anything else in the tank for the game Tuesday.

27 Apr 2024 23:05:30
Fancied Hull to beat Ipswich,

but overall Ipswich should have won on play

All down to Coventry bringing their A game or even B game.

Was watching earlier today the excellent The West Yorkshire Football Show where even tne normally uber positive Jayson B. was scathing of DF systematic failures with Piroe etc

They also highlighted Meslier goals concession is 7 goals on Xg 1.6.he should be saving most of them.

Agree0 0Disagree

28 Apr 2024 07:52:28
Meslier played well earlier in the season when we were winning
Since the International break, he's shipped some goals and personally I think its time to wave goodbye
Victor Jahanson (Rotherham) would cost us peanuts to buy.

28 Apr 2024 08:07:42
Baz Farke began season saying Piroe was not a CF but an AM. Now he claims he's a direct replacement for Bambi. Mes is Gnomelier Gashlier Statuelier Polo Mintier.

Hey George…you and co were clamouring for Piroe to be a Bamford replacement all season!

28 Apr 2024 10:14:25
But Ani, these people forget their previous clamourings, in favour of being correct in the “here and now”, or whatever sounds intelligent and cunning for a minute or two! 🤔🥴.

28 Apr 2024 11:09:24
Yes George, the notorious 30 minite Farke sermon " I was a striker I know about strikers "

Ani over the season it seemd JP os competent (ish) at onf thing . scoring from half chances and is an 8 a second striker.

The guy could not trap a bag of cement, nor make. an accuate 5 yard pass.

He is mo more a 10 than you Ani.

Hats off to Ipswich, they fight every game, what they lack in skill they make up for in pure resilience and team belief. If they go up with Leicester then well done to them, they are currently beating Hull City 3-2 so they deserve all the accolades that comes with their success. 👍👍.

It was a nervy, but entertaining game.
We could have done with a Hull win, but let's see what Coventry have planned next week.

They are a good side, it was a cracking game tonight, but it isn't over yet.

27 Apr 2024 23:09:39
Think there is a fair amount of skill amongst the Ipswich players Woody ;

Ipswich are certainly the most resilient team in league

And Ipswich play more entertaining football than many of Leeds matches.

Agree0 0Disagree

28 Apr 2024 09:29:31
I would caveat that Baz…Ipswich games are entertaining rather than Ipswich play entertaining football; they always give up chances in their box, like last night.

Notwithstanding that, last nights game was a good watch and Ipswich played their part in that. They are very resilient, no doubt.

Where we are on the same page however is the difference in approach they had to a “must win” game. They clearly went for it whereas Leeds approach to the same games recently has been unfathonable.

27 Apr 2024 17:08:47
Ipswich are now as good as up . already . imo

They may lose tonight against Hull

But they will very likely beat a dispirited nowt to play for Coventry

And Ipswich crucially now have a home banker of all home bankers against confirmed relegated Huddersfield who guaranteed will roll over to ensure Leeds don't go up.

I also would not trust this Leeds United team to beat Southampton.

Agree1 0Disagree

27 Apr 2024 17:25:47
Baz, I wouldn't be surprised if 2nd place goes down to the last game of the season.
Hull win and Coventry draw = who has the balls next weekend 🤔🤔.

Ipswich have to win one and draw one from the last three. The bookies still give Leeds a 25% chance of 2nd place.

West Brom losing has also moved Ipswich winning tonight from 50% with the bookies to under 40%. It’s far from done.

Southampton have lost 3 on the trot, so whilst we’re in bad form, so are they and we might have something to play for, and they absolutely don’t.

Out of our hands, yes. In Ipswich’s hands, yes. Ipswich already up, not at all.

Find out soon enough Leeroy

I wouldn't be putting any of your hard earned money on Leeds coming 2nd Brockers . it's a done deal Ipswich will pick up 6 points in next 3 games

Cheers Berma
by the way whilst you lurve to critique Bielsa, KP and Coops . every day
It's very noticeable thay you never or hardly ever criticise Farke or Meslier even after a 4 nil trouncing by lowly QPR.

I think if there is one thing we ALL know about this league, it is that there are zero “banker games”, whether home or away. Shocks can and do happen, and have been happening all this season, and for many season prior to this.
It’s still not over yet, that is for sure!

Further to the "mini rebuild" The more I read, the more I worry, with the need to find 73mill by June severely curtailing our ability to afford a marquee signing this summer. As in other windows I fear that our recruitment will be looking at freebies and lower leagues. Bargain basement will be the norm whilst hoping and praying that on the other side of the coin we are scraping every penny from the exit door.
If best laid plans, at all, go awry then we could be carrying a minus through next season.

Agree2 0Disagree

27 Apr 2024 15:25:32
Lots of dead meat to clip off the bones still Leodis, though I agree with what you’re saying in principle, and it is worrying, should we not go up. I do doubt the figures bandied about, and take them with a spoon of salt. We should all be used to it now tho; been here, done that etc etc. 😬😫.

Luton demonstrated last season that promotion can be achieved by a team ( emphasis team ) of good honest pros with a good coach.

Ipswich too.

Agree2 0Disagree

27 Apr 2024 16:22:01
Trouble is they are likely to come straight back down. As are Ipswich. And as we possibly would without significant additions to the squad. A club needs to be ready to go up. The structure needs to be right. I’d rather stay in the championship than be a yoyo club.

Luke Ayling had another good game with Middlesbrough today.
We let him go because he didn't have the legs to keep up with play
Michael Carrick found a way to accommodate Luke
If we are playing Championship football again next season, I think we should be trying to keep him.

If Lèeds are Champo club next season offer Luke Ayling a rolling one year contract . or possibly 2 year contract.

27 Apr 2024 19:39:25
If Middlesbrough's CB's can cover the gap left by Ayling when he pushes forwards, I'm sure ours can.
1 year contract with an option of a 2nd should suit both parties Baz.

There were some out there playing to their own agenda? There were some who clearly were struggling? There were even some who, after a long season, were clearly just off the boil. Last night showed that there are a number of issues which Farke needs to address in the summer, whichever league we are in. There are a few who will depart with a fond farewell and some who sadly it will be the best for all (just get top dollar) they just do not want to be here and some, who do not fall into either camp but stand with a mighty question mark above them. After last summer, this summer will be just as hard with a mini rebuild required but looming in the wings the shadow of our outstanding debts somewhat hampering our decisions. Still such is the life of a football manager for all it's woes we would all, too a man, kill for the job. In fact some of us think we are doing it already. Just (regretfully) nobody listens to our sage advice. I have no sympathy for myself (or any of you for that matter) we all knew when we started that, We Are Leeds and this is what we do! Give us a smooth straight path and somehow we will contrive to dig it up, divert it and cover it with broken glass. The football God watches us crawl along towards the end and to not make it too easy will give us a kicking every now and then in the sure knowledge that it doesn't matter what he does these fools will be back at the start of the path, every year full of hope and blind faith.
So, no matter what happens in the coming few weeks WE are the fans, with licence to criticise and praise, to threaten and cajole but above all else To Support our great team. As Saint Vivienne once said "Oh well, tomorrow is another day".
