Reading we made 27 million in player sales this summer.

Wexleeds1

1.) 04 Sep 2019 11:45:13
delicous!

10 Aug 2019 20:33:34
So much for youth getting a chance and as many said would have a big part to play this season. Dallas over shackleton have a feeling Dallas will start a lot of games in other positions over a youngster.

Wexleeds1

1.) 10 Aug 2019 22:47:08
I would like to see Gotts at right back instead of Dallas as i think he deserves to be there. Proper wing back who can defend. To be fair LUFC that was quite a passive post for Wex.

2.) 11 Aug 2019 09:32:30
I want to see alioski and Shackleton on either wingback role, they have more speed and will get forward more and create the space we need.

3.) 11 Aug 2019 12:46:05
hopefully Luke slots back and returns to form, Bazza LB + Ben +Liam centre, that IMO isvour strongest defensive lineup at the minute. can't wait to see Eddie as i have seen nothing about the lad only what i have read . But he sounds like what we need a attacking rocket.

4.) 12 Aug 2019 07:00:59
That’s a bit positive Chris, are you feeling ok?

5.) 12 Aug 2019 11:21:50
ha ha, had a run out with herself yesterday morning, so the joy was infectious i said i, d better start typing, ha ha, love to everyone on here 😂😂😂😂.

6.) 12 Aug 2019 15:02:14
Chirs Chris if it had that much impact you need to ask her, on our behalf to take one for the team a bit more often!

7.) 18 Aug 2019 09:12:45
I think Dallas has started the season well to be fair to him. It's a long season and Bielsa won't be afraid to throw any of the youngsters into the mix when needed. Hopefully we'll stay in the cups long enough to give some of the youngsters plenty of game time so they've ready when needed.

MM.

Hope Eddie is the answer because bamford isn't.

Wexleeds1

1.) 10 Aug 2019 18:33:29
spot on wex pal, but be careful because you will be called a moan or clueless by lots on here who seem. to think everything is rosy . Same old same old soft as brown. stuff. in defence and can't score goals up front.

2.) 10 Aug 2019 22:06:00
Double whammy. Bamford is not very good and very unlucky.

08 Aug 2019 14:36:57
Any player of Value sold, no permanent player brought in to replace Smells like Radz last throw of the dice. Well so much for a 5 year plan Radz is a vulture fund came in got his money back sneaked Elland road into his pocket and gone a 3 year plan really.

Wexleeds1

1.) 08 Aug 2019 14:51:43
Well Phillips is staying and he could've demanded the biggest transfer fee. If Bates was still here, he'd have sold him for £250K!

MM.

2.) 08 Aug 2019 17:29:36
The players sold weren’t in MBs plans

Apart from Roofe

We go again Leeds.

03 Aug 2019 21:35:54
You have to be baffled by Radz thinking. Let your top scorers contract run down so you get half his value then sell him at the last minute so other owners know your stuck and can overcharge for a replacement.

Wexleeds1

1.) 03 Aug 2019 21:49:01
Statlerdotcomdotorg.

2.) 03 Aug 2019 22:52:23
He he won’t sign what can you do wex? Drug him and force him to sign, maybe he just want a different chapter in his career he owes us nothing and has been loyal and dedicated and seen out what he signed to do. It’s all about agents and money and players and agents go we’re the money is it’s just life.

3.) 04 Aug 2019 09:20:03
More concerned by the fact that we struggle to keep or recruit good players . I know it's the way football is now days but remember with fondness the days when players felt it was an honour to play for club like leeds. We was a big club once for some of you younger fans, iam sure your dad's told you about it. lol.

4.) 04 Aug 2019 10:40:33
Sadly Mezzer it seems to be all about money nowadays. Remember when it was about the pride of pulling on the white strip and the passion of the players. Its not about the dream of glory now its the dream of getting where the big bucks are for owners and players. Not many heart on your sleeve players left.

Hi All
I know the last 2 wins were great but how vital were those 3 or 4 draws in the previous games.
When we thought the wheels were coming off.
Those few draws have proved massive as those single points were pivotal.

Wexleeds1

1.) 17 Apr 2025 11:54:32
Absolutely Wex, as a wobble it didn't really register on the richter scale, just one loss. Sheffield shows how quickly things can get away from you.

2.) 17 Apr 2025 13:09:38
Last season we didn't get away with dropping lots of points in run in as Leicester and Ipswich had strongish ends to season.

This season we may have got away with thanks to Blades.

3.) 17 Apr 2025 14:53:04
makes a massive difference psychologically to not lose games. vital run when we weren't at our best. The QPR fightback particularly I think.

4.) 17 Apr 2025 15:49:14
I have said it before, those draws, e. g. v QPR shows a fortitude that didn’t exist last season. We fought to get something from those games…. and it has made a huge difference. I bet Sheff U would be happy with 3 draws last week.

5.) 17 Apr 2025 17:28:42
absolutely ani.

05 Feb 2025 21:55:57
Just goes to show how much lamps is at best poor when it comes to tactics.

Wexleeds1

1.) 05 Feb 2025 22:34:38
I was very surprised, and a bit baffled in all honesty? Was it arrogance or just stupidity that made him think he could play a high line against us. I know it played right into our hands, and they’ve had a nice run, but come on Frankie!?

30 Oct 2024 20:28:28
Just an idea can we in January bring back our better loaned out players and push properly for promotion and who could we call back I know Harrison is being spoken about. Who else would be available and would we be happy to make a bold move like this.

Wexleeds1

1.) 30 Oct 2024 21:20:40
Do not bring Harrison back, unless it's to pelt him with rotten fruit at Elland road. He demanded a pay rise in the prem, then bailed when we got relegated.

That bridge is burnt and the ashes scattered to the winds.

2.) 30 Oct 2024 22:14:22
Wex decent call
From a performance ( goals and assists) perspective and fitness ( very rarely injured) perspective

I would take Jack Harrison all day long, LUFC be struggling a tad up front ( no goals in past 175 mins of play) .

JH contributed well with goals and assists for LUFC each of 5 seasons. and is far too good for Champo

Rather him than Manor Solomon any day of week.

Doubt JH loan agreement has a Jan recall in it though.

3.) 31 Oct 2024 00:28:39
Large should be fit by new year so can’t see Harrison getting in the team unless you drop gnonto and or Dj and that would prob cause a stir.
I’d rather get rid of as many loanees as possible and buy an am and striker. Simple innit.

4.) 31 Oct 2024 05:08:55
Wex "our better loaned out players"?

There are only 3. One is allegedly a DF playing abroad, Greenwood who if he were to return would have 5 MF ahead of him and Harrison. Therefore, your post is exclusively about Harrison.

Sympathetic to MOT view. Besides, he's a winger. Don't need more. We need a striker. Ings a good shout.

5.) 31 Oct 2024 06:17:31
When a player is loaned out who is not a youth player who is gaining more experience means that the club are trying to get rid of that player, for what ever reason he is not wanted and he, like Harrison has no desire to play for our club.
Basically they would offer nothing.

6.) 31 Oct 2024 07:33:15
JH wanting to play in EPL with a EPL salary is understandable . he had already played a significant part in keeping Leeds up in 22/ 23.

However if he was still at Leeds, its very harsh bordering on utter baloney to suggest he would offer nothing. He always gives 100% and noway would down tools not try/ refuse to play.

7.) 31 Oct 2024 10:43:50
I don’t think paying loans can be recalled and sure we wouldn’t loan out for free

Hatssion is good at this level but why would he drop from prem plus I think Largie is better . I’d rather him
Than Solomon but not a fit Solomon and that would also be harsh on James.

8.) 31 Oct 2024 12:24:59
Rammazani is a big step up from Harrison, we don’t need him. He’s not coming back anyhow and is completely pointless to debate the subject.
Three goals and three assists in 29 matches for Everton last season tells me everything I already know about the player.
He’s a half decent Championship player but a far less than mediocre Premiership one.

9.) 31 Oct 2024 13:53:52
. JH 21 goals 24.assits for Leeds United in 3 EPL. seaasons. in a weak bottom 4 Leeds team for two of those seasons.

EPL proven fella.

10.) 31 Oct 2024 15:20:15
The reason Harrison was being muted for his return was due to his less than effective performances of late.

Whilst I agree he’s a good player at Champo level he’s made his more expensive bed with Dyche and now he has to lie in it.

I wish him no ill will for previous services rendered, but have no interest in a player who had no desire to stay, fight and play for my team.

11.) 31 Oct 2024 15:33:12
Gnonto, Wober, BA all wanted out of LUFC af various points too. redemptions do happen.

12.) 31 Oct 2024 18:52:59
Sadly Harrison maybe coming back due to his unpopularity at Everton, their fans are even calling him the worst winger in the Premiership.
Let’s hope he is swiftly loaned out to another club if his return transpires.

13.) 31 Oct 2024 21:21:32
Sadly?

JH is the answer to our winger crisis. let's hope DF is open minded.

14.) 01 Nov 2024 05:54:41
Although not fully fit, Solomon is a far better left winger and will deputize that position for the foreseeable future.
We do not need Harrison.

15.) 01 Nov 2024 07:14:35
So that means OP zero bench options? . nice ?

And what happens when more than likely MS joins LR and DJ on treatment table? Your anti JH "we dot need him ' agenda is gonner lòok well ɓ blinkered.

16.) 01 Nov 2024 09:00:38
He does not want to play for us Baz, what part of that do you not understand?
Injuries happen, Farke will have to shuffle his players around to play in other positions, as you’ve already mentioned, if Solomon also becomes injured then Firpo could still be a replacement.
That’s football it’s not just us that has to deal with injuries.

17.) 01 Nov 2024 14:31:15
OP . JH would PREFER to play in EPL on much higher EPL salary, . who wouldn't

He would play for Leeds again in Champo and EPL I am sure
if circumstances arise.

18.) 01 Nov 2024 17:35:27
I can see the ??? and ?? showing a January transfer interest in him.

19 Aug 2024 13:53:19
Is it a case of 49ers not wanting to back Farke.

Wexleeds1

1.) 19 Aug 2024 14:26:13
Herr Farke was shrewd in getting a 4 year deal. looks like Farke was the one doing thst deal in his sleep not Marathe

So a sizeable payout if he gets sacked .

As for Marathe still backing him . probably still does. For now.

2.) 19 Aug 2024 14:32:48
Kind of ironic that the same owners who say "bad contracts are a thing of the past" give farke a four year contract without a second thought.

3.) 19 Aug 2024 14:48:21
I think they have to give Farke a chance. He was and is a bit clueless and prob shoulda coulda got us up last year.
But.
It has been a bit of a rubbish two years with ins and outs. And Farke been brave enough to publicly say he needs 4-5 in.
Back in 49ers court now. They cashed in big time so let’s see how deep their pockets are. The depth of their pockets will also indicate if they want Leeds or just trying to make us look good for the bull on the cheap.
However, if they don’t get the players we need. Think new owners and manager called for. Clean slate and all.

4.) 19 Aug 2024 15:29:14
Giving him a chance is fine, letting him overstay his welcome like Marsch may cost us promotion.

5.) 19 Aug 2024 16:24:30
When you lose quality players like we have past 2 seasons what on earth do you all expect DANIEL FARKE do I don't think some on here have ever played game the mind boggles.

6.) 19 Aug 2024 17:05:30
Agree MoTagain.

7.) 19 Aug 2024 18:45:40
They are certainly letting Farke carry a big burden as far as the press is concerned. He’s had to front up for all the crap last summer and this. He needs to be given the chance to bring his own players in. And I can’t believe they would starve him of funds for players in the hope he might walk. That would be to the detriment of the club and the season.

8.) 19 Aug 2024 19:08:49
Mally . according to most people. last season DF had a squad as good or better than each and every Champo club

Leeds are in this current predicament mess because DF along with his team/ squad failed twice at getting promotion.

9.) 19 Aug 2024 19:17:25
Baz spot on mate! everybody still making excuses for D Farke.

10.) 19 Aug 2024 19:23:53
Adjust, Mally. That's what he needs to do if he hasn't got the players. Unfortunately it's not really something on his wheelhouse. Old dog new tricks and all that.

Best we can hope for is we get some creative incomings in the next week to help with Farke's tactical limitations.

11.) 19 Aug 2024 19:24:50
Players failed Daniel Farke ie summerville one of them for last 7 games of season he had his head turned for me we've never replaced pabs I know there hard find them players but this group of players are crying out for a thinker in midfield what do you make Todd Cantwell Rangers Daniel Farke old Boy I know but he would do a job me thinks mot.

12.) 19 Aug 2024 20:02:15
Indeed Bermuda Hooksie. ridiculous excuses going around re this

Mally. I agree players failed BUT so too very much did DF.

13.) 19 Aug 2024 20:06:45
Think Cantwell would be decent for the right price. Farke definitely got the best out of him when he had him.

14.) 19 Aug 2024 20:09:05
The blaming of Cry also smacks of Farke's limitations. If one player doesn't play well the team fails ?Doesn't that highlight how much he relied on certain individuals rather than tactical acumen?

15.) 19 Aug 2024 20:30:55
I am not sure why a minority of Leeds fans on here are calling for Farke's sacking, as I can't see a better option out there at this time.
I would rather persevere with him and keep as much stability at the club as possible during yet another tumultuous summer.

I have seen the stats that have been written about the run-in from last season and the start of this one.
Am I the only one that thinks those stats can't really be laid at Farke's door?

Bear with me, here's my take.
Prior to the final international break of last season, Leeds were on fire.
During the final break, Finland played Wales in a bid for the European Championships. Finland lost, and Kamara's performances after that didn't reflect those earlier in the season.
Then, later in that same international break, Wales lost out in their EC bid too. Ampadu, James, Rondon and Roberts all had to overcome massive disappointments.
The leadership group of Leeds United needed to pick themselves up.

It is my opinion that the run-in stats reflected the players' disappointments rather than a sudden loss of managerial capability of Farke.
As the start of this season's stats reflect yet another tumultuous summer. My own conciliation is the fact we have managed to free up a huge amount on the wage bill and squad spaces, ready for a younger and more appropriate profile of player

Briefly
Early season form. patchy as we had a very high turnover of players for various reasons.
Mid-season form. as good as anyone in the league.
End of season form. disastrous due to 50% of the 1st XI struggling with losing out on an EC opportunity.
And still, we nearly got promoted!

16.) 19 Aug 2024 21:08:11
There are better managers available, mate. Igor Tudor. Better tactically. Better ingame management. Versatile. Doesn't have an overreliance on individuals. Aesthetically pleasing football. Doesn't eat rubbish from the board.

And it's not a sudden loss of DFs capabilites, as he's shown his limitations repeatedly over the past seasons. Certain individuals don't play well and his tactics don't work because the tactics revolve around feeding certain individuals the ball, instead of an overall use of tactical nous. Only being amplified by our creative players leaving. If he can't adjust then he's in trouble, as are we. Surely would also go some way to back-handedly say that Farke's man management needs questioning if he can't motivate and pick the players up over the course of those last 10 games post international break.

17.) 19 Aug 2024 21:12:35
BTW, I'm not saying sack him. He needs the window to see what players are brought in. If we bring some in then happy days and hopefully he gets the best out of them without the same issues we had last season. If not he clearly needs to adjust his tactics.

In either of those outcomes, he will have a lot of pressure as he's either getting what he needs so will be expected to perform, or the spotlight will be on his own ability to affect games through his tactics due to having an inferior squad.

Time will tell. And he shouldn't be given too much if we don't perform in either scenario.

18.) 19 Aug 2024 21:51:18
Even though Summerville has left the building, there still seems to be an over reliance of attacking down the left side
Dan James is lightning compared to Gnonto ????
Answers on a postcard peeps.

19.) 19 Aug 2024 22:26:40
Farke can't be Schroedinger's manager. He either is the reason we did so well last season, or he isn't the reason we did so well.

If he is to be thanked for his winning streak, then he is responsible for the non-winning streak we're on.

If he isn't at fault for the non-winning streak, then what he did to create the winning streak is moot and would have happened regardless of the manager.

I'm not calling for his head, I want to know who IS responsible for the team, the tactics, the refusal to stop playing bad players or those off form. Who is responsible for over reliance on Summerville? Who is responsible for refusing to make substitutions in a timely and strategic fashion.
If it isn't farke, then save the Dosh and buy a scarecrow to stand on the sidelines.

20.) 19 Aug 2024 22:34:40
Short answer. Gnonto is a better player.

James really needs to find some form again as he's been off it for a while now. 24 mins he's played well since start of April.

21.) 19 Aug 2024 23:06:52
I agree Dill, Gnonto is more technically gifted than Dan James.
But he isn't as quick or direct and therefore he's at risk of getting smothered out of the game like Summerville was.

22.) 20 Aug 2024 05:53:58
Gnonto has only really showed us glimpses of how he played that first season he came. He really went at players that year. Direct and incisive. Hope to see that more. Similar to his goal against Pompey. More of that please.

One thing you can pretty much guarantee from DJ is he'll run his knackers off. But seems aimless sometimes and his crossing leaves a lot to be desired when he get the chances. For me, I think he's great being utilised as a sub for the last 30 mins when legs are tired. But that would entail us getting another winger in first and foremost.

Hopefully DJ can find his form again.

23.) 20 Aug 2024 06:23:16
Just a quick one to say “Well said Mally”!
And Manston!

15 Aug 2024 09:55:55
Hard to knock any player wanting to leave when as a club we yet again showed no ambitions in the transfer window. No sign of intent that we were going for promotion and happy to plod about. Big money for Archie. Big red Bull sponsorship deal and Cree money not to mention offload of wages and we show no ambition.

Ed nothing wrong with the loan market you can show intent there also.

Wexleeds1

{Ed025's Note - absolutely nothing wrong with it Wex, the only downside is that these sort of deals usually happen late in the window mate, they usually come to fruition when squads for the remainder of the season have been finalised..
