Great stuff, new contract for Boges following Amps and Rodon. Excellent news on all fronts and great work by the 9ers.

Brenda next.

20 Aug 2026 12:22:33
Agree, we need to sort new deals for Brendan and Gruev next or sell.

No real talk of either going, so Brendan probs at the same extension. Gruev might be in line for a light increase - he's on a pittance by prem standards and is a class act off the pitch and with the lads, and is honest enough about his minutes.

Big Signing Incoming?

The feeling around the ITK guys on WACCOE is that no news is leaking at the moment suggesting something interesting is happening in the background.

2

20 Aug 2026 04:01:47
Please please please let it be a striker.

3

20 Aug 2026 05:45:25
Would love to see Harvey Elliott through on a loan with option to buy, striker in, lb coverage and back up gk.

20 Aug 2026 06:54:48
They are holding money back for the end of the window; there's going to be a huge scramble for clubs at the end of the window this year, if you look at who has spent money and who hasn't.

Villa, Sunderland, Forest, Palace have all spent very modest amounts so far, and then you have Spurs spending a load of cash. Clubs are awaiting domino's to fall before pouncing.

3

20 Aug 2026 07:14:54
Much as I like Harvey Elliott, another midfielder is not our key priority right now. If we are planning another big signing, then, as Aus says, "please please please let it be a striker." Candidates include Flemming, Demirovic, Parrott, or others the rumour mill has not heard of yet.

1

20 Aug 2026 07:45:52
Flemming, 28 years old and only one season in the PL, Burnley will likely want north of 15m. Too expensive in my opinion and no better than Nmecha.

Demirovic, again 28 years old, I would certainly prefer him to Flemming as an option, but once again would command a large fee, probably between 15-20m. Would he be happy playing second fiddle to DCL? I'm not sure he would.

Parrott - has already been confirmed at Real Betis for 17m.

In my opinion, we need to identify a striker aged between 21 and 24 years of age, who is of a good stature (over 6ft) , is promising, and can make an impression when called upon, but will initially be behind DCL and competing with Nmecha for that second striker role. Think a player such as Jovon Mkama - a big, tall, burly striker with loads of development to do, but could do a job if called upon.

4

20 Aug 2026 08:11:29
Sorry, Waccoe, but I don't agree on the striker recruitment. In this second season, we need someone who can do it now, not be developed. If we sold Nmecha, then a project could fill that role, but we need two proven strikers.
DCL is one, and for the other, I'd take Fleming without any second thoughts.

He did well last season in a poor team, has continued in the same vein this season, and can play in a deeper role if required. Demirovic has a good pedigree, but he hasn't done it in England.

3

20 Aug 2026 08:28:58
If we were looking for someone around that age, Mateta wouldn't be a bad shout. Seemed to be on the outta last season.

Also, another one could be Jackson.. Chelsea looking to offload players.

0

20 Aug 2026 08:42:06
Farke wouldn't be able to cope with Jackson.

4

20 Aug 2026 08:45:50
I agree on Fleming. He would be a very underwhelming addition, imo - the young striker at Midtjylland in Denmark, Franculino Dju, would be my choice. Big, fast and left-footed. He could easily replace Calvert-Lewin and/or play alongside him (right side) . I was shocked that Coventry pulled off the signing of midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi, a superb talent, particularly given our pursuit of Shea Charles.

Left full-back is still a concern, and Hugo Bueno would surely be a realistic target given Wolves' demise. GK - I think the board were painfully naive not tying Darlow down to a new contract mid-term last season. Perhaps Alex Palmer or Chris Walton from Ipswich may be good options.

2

20 Aug 2026 10:09:40
Jackson misses more chances than Bamford did - hard pass from me.

1

19 Aug 2026 23:00:54
Here's an interesting one out of the blue from someone on X who never posts such links.

Grealish to Leeds.

1

20 Aug 2026 00:33:03
Could be the poster formerly known as "Currymonster" but using a different pseudonym.

4

20 Aug 2026 10:10:45
Apparently Citeh wants us to cover all his wages (£300k a week) , so we have moved on. If they drop their ask, then we might be interested again.

0

20 Aug 2026 11:02:31
Waccoe ITK has completely killed that rumour.

0

19 Aug 2026 22:14:52
Looks like Torino may be getting cold feet over the Perri deal and their ownership is holding up the move, reportedly. I did think it might not be a good look him taking a week to decide between Marseille and Torino when he was all set to sign there.

3

20 Aug 2026 05:49:56
If Perri stays, not a bad #2 to have. Be used for cup games like last season.

2

20 Aug 2026 08:15:13
Agreed, Waccoe, re the delay in Perri signing for Torino. They have raised concerns that he's got an injury, however minor, and there seems to be some debate at the top as to whether they now want him. It might explain why we haven't made any moves, as Leeds are not convinced this transfer is nailed down.

0

19 Aug 2026 12:21:48
Elvedi deal officially completed. Hopefully another good addition to the squad.

3

19 Aug 2026 14:08:41
Personally, think he's a great addition! Extra LB cover, and we have real strength and some depth at the back.

2

19 Aug 2026 14:23:13
Really chuffed with that. Think we should be tough to beat this season. Bit more creativity with Wilson. You never know, Okafor might have got himself fit enough for 90 mins. No centre forward cover, which is a worry, but I'm optimistic for a comfortable season.

1

19 Aug 2026 14:50:49
I never really understand the talk of Okafor only lasting 60 minutes. It's always been Farke's tactics to swap wingers around 60-70 minutes, way before Okafor joined, so I think it's more down to tactics and strength in depth rather than him not having the legs. Alongside Wilson, he's the player most likely to create something out of nothing, so I'd be happy going into the season with him starting, then Gnonto, BA, and DJ as options to come off the bench.

I think recruitment has been top notch this summer, arguably the best in the league. Backups are still needed in a couple of positions, but our strongest 11 looks far better than it has for 25 years. I'm personally very happy with what we've done so far and trust the recruitment team to finish the job over the next couple of weeks.

7

19 Aug 2026 15:29:49
Okafor is usually blowing out of his arse after an hour. You can visibly see it, and I'm sure his "bra data" will show visible drop offs.

2

19 Aug 2026 15:37:31
What's his plan? If we don't concede, we can't lose?
We need some firepower up front.

2

19 Aug 2026 16:15:32
That's always been Farke's plan.. don't concede.. at least draw the game, which is okish to an extent..

Still, I maintain a quality striker is more important than a quality gk.

3

19 Aug 2026 20:23:30
Okafor simply doesn't get more than 60 min on the wing. Took us a costly while to realise it and start getting him off then. Still, I wouldn't buy another striker. We have 3 after Piroe, and Okafor is one of those. That's 1 more than most clubs. Trying to find someone to sign as backup who is better than N and worse than D, just so we can have 2 more strikers than every other Prem team is a scriduculous waste of money.

Yes, sign someone like Paixeo to strengthen attack, but for goodness sakes go sign Skelly to improve / compete for the first 11 in two spots.

1

20 Aug 2026 09:58:07
If you look at Okafor's stats from last season, he played substantially more minutes than during any other season of his career. He also averaged 72 minutes in the games he started. A decent return for a high intensity role.

0

19 Aug 2026 07:26:57.
Grealish deal unlikely according to posts on WACCOE. Too expensive and too injury prone.

7

https://liverpool-rumours.co.uk/uploads/thumb_Ed001.png avatar{Ed001's Note - and too drunk to play on occasion, like over Xmas at Everton.}

2

19 Aug 2026 08:07:20
Great player on his day, but certainly not the type of character Farke would want in the dressing room.

4

19 Aug 2026 09:58:51
I've never rated him. Not enough end product. He thinks he's better than he is, which is dangerous.

1

19 Aug 2026 09:59:49
I kind of miss the days when players all got drunk.

4

19 Aug 2026 11:05:27
One of the best divers in the PL, so at least he'd win us a few pens and free kicks. Other than that no no no no No!

0

18 Aug 2026 11:58:54
Waccoe saying 2nd keeper almost done - thought to be Zetterer or Sam Johnstone.

8

18 Aug 2026 12:47:08
Solid that.. Well done, Leeds.

4

18 Aug 2026 12:48:51
Sam Johnstone all day.

7

18 Aug 2026 14:29:08
Defo Sam Johnstone please.

6

18 Aug 2026 14:50:21
Agree on SJ. Guarantee it's the other bloke now then!. 😬🤣

5

18 Aug 2026 15:32:27
Of the two, I'd prefer Sam Johnstone for his EPL experience, but he's still recovering after shoulder surgery towards the end of last season, and so could be a bit of a risk.

3

18 Aug 2026 16:32:37
I wouldn't say no to either. Zetterstrom is excellent at penalties - could be very useful in any cup run.

1

18 Aug 2026 16:34:45
My bad! Just realised it's Zetterer as opposed to Zetterstrom from Derby - I'd rather have him over both of the others.

3

18 Aug 2026 21:35:15
Can confirm, it's Zetterer.

He's been miles better than Johnstone over the last few years anyway.

1

18 Aug 2026 23:08:41
How can you confirm its Zetterer exactly? The user BrightWhite on Waccoe is not reliable.

0

19 Aug 2026 07:49:11
According to the local press, Derby have received an offer from Monza for Zetterstrom. The figure is £2m plus a 50% sell-on clause. Sounds a low figure, and a bit of a bargain if true. He might go to Monza as No. 1, but at that price, he'd be a reasonable second keeper if he's prepared to accept that role.

2

19 Aug 2026 08:04:38
Wolves fans are generally pleased that Johnstone might be leaving. Think he's become too injury prone.

0

19 Aug 2026 08:35:57
Zetterstrom isnt a ball playing keeper, though, and Farke wants one as build up play starting from the GK is very important for him.

1

19 Aug 2026 09:01:40
Fair point, Witk.

0

19 Aug 2026 10:12:33
I read that Zeterer had snubbed us.
Could be wrong.

2

19 Aug 2026 11:00:41
Quite probable, LLF, as he's stated a need to be #1 wherever he goes.

0

19 Aug 2026 11:12:55
The only "reliable" source is an official announcement from ER. All others to be taken with a pinch of salt.

3

19 Aug 2026 11:14:37
Surely not, LLF. How can that be? 😆

0

19 Aug 2026 12:00:28
Absolutely, JR!

0

19 Aug 2026 13:26:03
As Longlostfan said, I also heard Zetterer has turned us down as he wants more first team opportunities, so Gazza's confirmation, possibly a little premature.

0

19 Aug 2026 13:58:13
It was one article that said he wanted to fight for his place, and it got parroted by aggregate sites and content creators. Piroe wanted to stay and fight for his place at Leeds, and was holding a West Ham scarf this morning.

Things change very quickly in football, especially when you are told, in no uncertain terms, that you're not in the manager's plans and replacements are coming in.

1

19 Aug 2026 19:16:36
It's Zetterer at Frankfurt, stop wondering about other keepers.

He's been a Bundesliga starter three seasons out the past five so he's a good pick.

0

20 Aug 2026 06:59:20
We aren't signing any goalkeeper until Perri leaves the club, that is a fact.

0

20 Aug 2026 08:09:57
Just a follow up to the above to say TheLeedsITK is very reputable on here. If he says Zetterer, then it's Zetterer! But Perri will need to move on first before he can be announced.

0

18 Aug 2026 11:21:20
Leeds Live says we're interested in FC Midtjylland striker Darío Osorio.

4

18 Aug 2026 19:45:53
We're one among many, JR.

1

18 Aug 2026 21:27:30
Seems unlikely given he's a right winger.

1

19 Aug 2026 13:26:26
Left footer, though, so possible. Would love us to get him.

2

17 Aug 2026 18:53:55
Latest backup GK linked is Micheal Zetterer.

1

17 Aug 2026 19:20:14
Zetterer doesn't see himself at all as a number 2 .. He wants to only be a number 1.

Played 22 league matches last seez, so a good whack of seez as number 1.

Whereas, he would be a permo benchwarmer at Leeds, unless gawd forbid, there's an injury to Jimmy Trafford.

So Baz Likelihood Rating zero out of ten.

5

17 Aug 2026 19:20:39
Bring back Karl. We miss him.

6

17 Aug 2026 19:50:53
I'd say we are 99% likely to sign Zeterer.

Baz clueless.

4

17 Aug 2026 20:47:54
We shall see, LLF. If I am wrong, so be it.

0

17 Aug 2026 21:17:09
Darlow can stay where he is.

5

17 Aug 2026 21:29:27
Zetterer wants to be no. 1, but Eintracht are looking for a new keeper. They looked at Atuboll at Freiburg, but he's too expensive, so they are looking for a cheaper alternative. Zetterer has the choice to be either in Germany or the PL, but he doesn't have the option to be no. 1.

3

17 Aug 2026 21:51:26
Good information post, Dune. Indeed Zetterer does want to remain/be a number 1 gk.

It would be logical to suggest that Zetterer would have much, much, much more chance of dislodging as number 1 a cheaper alternative for Frankfurt (that's assuming they even manage to recruit one in limited time remaining) , than he ever has in dislodging an England international uber expensive £45 million goalie in Trafford.

If he, unlikely, does come to Leeds, he therefore has done a 180 and no longer wants to be a number 1. Just. 💰

2

17 Aug 2026 21:54:12
Darlow was good for Leeds Corkey.he would make a great number 2 as well as a.good number 1

And

Longlostfan. do please feel free to explain why and how you know Zetterer is 99% likely to join Leeds United. 🤔

2

18 Aug 2026 07:37:25
Because, Baz, you seem to have a bad record, and when you say it's not happening, it often happens.

4

18 Aug 2026 08:03:51
Don't rate his stats from last season, and he's on a decent chunk around £60k a week. That's excessive for a number 2 who will hopefully only get a game in the cups, or if Trafford is injured.

3

18 Aug 2026 08:55:37
There is talk of Sam Johnstone. I mentioned him, stalker in the window.
Great experience and probably a bit cheaper.

2

18 Aug 2026 09:00:35
Indeed, Dave. His stats aren't good. Didn't know he is on £60K a week either. It's a big no thanks, and Leeds surely won't be signing him.

LLF, yep the signing of Jimmy Trafford was unexpected, esp at £45 million, a big percentage of our transfer budget.

2

18 Aug 2026 12:45:50
Johnstone is only recently back in training after a lengthy lay off for shoulder surgery. Bit of a gamble if he's the choice.

1

18 Aug 2026 14:51:21
Not with Super Cairns as #3!

0

19 Aug 2026 08:05:53
Agree, Nalanc. He's had a few injuries, mainly over the last three seasons, mainly shoulder and elbow, and Wolves fans think he's too injury prone.
